Emanuel Wilson Dealing with Hamstring Injury
Seattle Seahawks running back Emanuel Wilson (hamstring) did not play in the team's preseason opener against the Dallas Cowboys on Saturday. His absence was likely caused by a hamstring injury that he suffered in a scrimmage during practice on Tuesday. The good news is that head coach Mike Macdonald said Wilson's injury "is a short-term thing," so we should see him back on the field relatively soon. Prior to the hamstring ailment, the 27-year-old had been running with the first-team offense. Zach Charbonnet (knee) continues to recover from an ACL tear, so Wilson projects to start at running back when the Seahawks take the field in Week 1 of the regular season against the New England Patriots. As long as Charbonnet is sidelined, Wilson ranks as a low-end RB2 or high-end RB3 in fantasy football.

Von Miller Expected to Sign with Cowboys
The Dallas Cowboys are expected to sign free agent linebacker Von Miller, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.com. Presumably, it'll be a one-year deal for the veteran defensive standout. Miller is an eight-time Pro Bowler, but he hasn't earned the honor since 2019. Nevertheless, he has remained productive deep into his career. Last year with the Commanders, he played in 17 games, amassing 26 tackles, nine sacks, 15 quarterback hits, and six tackles for loss. Now 36 years old, the Texas A&M product and Texas native heads to Dallas for a homecoming of sorts. He should offer depth in a linebacker room that is headlined by Rashan Gary, Dee Winters, DeMarvion Overshown, and Donovan Ezeiruaku.

Raiders Sign Noah Brown to a One-Year Deal
The Las Vegas Raiders have signed wide receiver Noah Brown to a one-year deal. Brown spent last season with the Commanders, but injuries limited him to just four games. During that span, he caught five of 10 targets for 83 yards and zero touchdowns. The veteran receiver reached his fantasy peak as the WR61 back in 2022, and his productivity has declined ever since. It's unlikely he'll return to his 2022 form in Vegas, so fantasy managers should avoid him in drafts. With that being said, he could immediately compete for a role in a relatively thin receiver room that is headlined by Jack Bech, Tre Tucker, Jalen Nailor, and Dont'e Thornton Jr.

Colts Hint at Keeping Anthony Richardson Sr.
Indianapolis Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson Sr. appears increasingly likely to remain with the team for the 2026 season, despite the fact that he recently requested a trade. According to Stephen Holder of ESPN.com, Colts assistant general manager Ed Dodds hinted that the former first-round pick will remain in Indianapolis to provide the team with depth. "We want to have three [quarterbacks] that can play," Dodds said. "So, if [ Richardson] is one of them, he's going to be here. ... Look at last year. You never know." Dodds, of course, was referencing the injury to Daniel Jones (Achilles) last season that required the Colts to play Philip Rivers and Riley Leonard. After Jones went down, the Colts dropped from 8-4 to 8-9. They lost five in a row, falling out of a playoff spot. Richardson has not lived up to expectations since entering the league, but he's arguably still capable of playing mediocre football to keep the Colts' playoff hopes alive in the event that Jones suffers another significant injury in 2026.

Anonymous Bills Player Criticizes State of New Stadium Field
An anonymous Buffalo Bills player criticized the state of the team's field at the new Highmark Stadium during a conversation with Tim Graham of The Athletic. "The field is ass right now," the player said. "But it's early." The field was in rough shape as early as the first quarter of Saturday's preseason opener, when quarterback Kyle Allen slid near the sideline and kicked up a massive clump of grass and dirt. Four Bills players stepped onto the field and attempted to fix the patch of grass. Beyond the playing surface itself, the stadium has faced plenty of criticism since being unveiled earlier this month. Photos of obstructed views have been shared across social media, fans complained that some seats are not sheltered from inclement weather, and television viewers pointed out how generic the field looked during the preseason opener. With that being said, Graham writes that there have also been some positives. Specifically, linebacker Dorian Williams said that the grass "looked good" and that he's confident in stadium management's ability to work out the kinks before the regular season gets underway. Nevertheless, the condition of the grass will be a storyline to watch going forward, especially if injuries occur on the surface at Highmark Stadium.

Kyle Monangai Expected to be Fine After Exiting Practice
Chicago Bears running back Kyle Monangai (knee) is expected to be "fine" despite exiting Sunday's practice with a knee injury, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.com. Initial tests reportedly showed that Monangai's knee is structurally sound, but the team will do an MRI to confirm his status. We may see the Bears hold Monangai out of a few practices or a preseason game out of an abundance of caution, but it doesn't sound like he'll miss any time during the regular season. The 24-year-old is looking to build off an impressive rookie season during which he tallied 783 rushing yards, 164 receiving yards, and five touchdowns. He was the RB30 in PPR leagues despite operating behind D'Andre Swift last year. Swift remains in the backfield for 2026, but Monangai should be able to carve out a sizable role in Ben Johnson's offense, positioning him as a strong RB3/flex option once again this year.

Jamal Adams Suffers Season-Ending Knee Injury
Minnesota Vikings safety Jamal Adams (knee) has been diagnosed with a season-ending knee injury, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL.com. Adams initially suffered the non-contact injury during the Vikings' first game of the preseason. The 30-year-old had signed with Minnesota this past offseason after spending 2025 with the Las Vegas Raiders, with whom he logged 44 tackles, one interception, and one forced fumble. There was plenty of excitement about his upside in a defense led by defensive coordinator Brian Flores, so it's disappointing to see his season end before it even really began. Rookie Jakobe Thomas (back) figures to earn more defensive snaps in Adams' absence.

Jeremiyah Love Dealing with a High Ankle Sprain, Likely Done for Preseason
Arizona Cardinals running back Jeremiyah Love (ankle) is dealing with a high ankle sprain and is unlikely to play again this preseason, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.com. The team is hopeful that he'll be ready for their season opener on Sept. 13, but it's too early to say for sure that he'll be available. Love initially suffered the ankle injury during Week 1 of the preseason when he handled a heavy workload, including 11 carries and three receptions. The Cardinals' backfield is suddenly a bit of a mess. Love and James Conner (ankle) are both injured, leaving their statuses for Week 1 up in the air. Offseason acquisition Tyler Allgeier is the Cardinals' only healthy running back, which means he could end up getting the start against the Chargers on Sept. 13. Regardless of whether Love suits up for the season opener, we're still quite encouraged about his upside as a rookie in fantasy football. He ranks as the RB15 in RotoBaller's latest redraft rankings, and he's the RB4 in the latest dynasty rankings.

Dan Campbell Refers to Former Lions Player as "Good Dude"
Detroit Lions head coach Dan Campbell had positive words for former cornerback Terrion Arnold after the Seattle Seahawks agreed to terms with him. "Terrion's a good dude," Campbell said Sunday, according to Brad Galli. "The whole thing is unfortunate." Campbell added that he has no ill will toward Arnold and wished him and everyone involved in the situation the best. Detroit released Arnold in June after he was arrested in Florida on eight felony charges, including four counts of robbery with a firearm or deadly weapon and four counts of kidnapping. Arnold has denied the allegations, and the case remains ongoing. Seattle has agreed to a deal with the 23-year-old, though the move was not yet official as of Friday while the team worked through logistical and legal details. Campbell said he was not surprised another team showed interest, noting that clubs will do their own due diligence. Arnold was Detroit's first-round pick in 2024 and appeared in 24 games with 22 starts over two seasons.

Kyle Monangai Suffers Knee Injury, Limps Off Practice Field
Chicago Bears running back Kyle Monangai (knee) left Sunday's practice after getting tangled with defensive tackle Grady Jarrett, according to Sean Hammond. The two went to the ground during a non-padded period, and Monangai eventually limped off the field with a trainer. Hammond also noted that Jarrett was visibly upset after the play. The second-year back is listed behind D'Andre Swift on Chicago's current unofficial depth chart after a productive rookie season. Monangai rushed 169 times for 783 yards and five touchdowns in 2025, adding 18 catches for 164 yards. He and Swift were the only running back tandem in the NFL to each top 750 rushing yards last season. It's too early to know whether Sunday's injury will cost Monangai any time, but his status now becomes an important one to watch in Chicago's backfield. Roschon Johnson is currently listed third at running back behind Swift and Monangai.

Sam Howell Posts Elite Passer Rating in Preseason Opener
Dallas Cowboys quarterback Sam Howell was sharp in his first preseason action with the team Saturday, completing eight of 12 passes for 94 yards and a touchdown in a 17-7 win over the Seattle Seahawks. He finished the first half with a 118.1 passer rating and did not turn the ball over. Howell's best drive came just before halftime. He scrambled for 10 yards on third-and-7, then capped the seven-play, 65-yard possession with a 39-yard touchdown pass to rookie Camden Brown. Head coach Brian Schottenheimer liked what he saw from both quarterbacks, saying they handled Seattle's pressure well, moved the offense and protected the football. Howell is battling Joe Milton III for the job behind Dak Prescott, and Dallas listed the two with an "or" on its first unofficial depth chart. Milton was strong in the second half as well, so Howell didn't pull away Saturday. He did plenty to keep himself right in the middle of the competition.

Packers Could Limit Tucker Kraft's Snap Count Throughout First Half
Green Bay Packers tight end Tucker Kraft (knee) could have his snap count limited throughout the first half of the regular season, he told Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com. Kraft noted that he's pushing to recover quickly so that he doesn't have any limitations in Week 1, but he acknowledged that the team could manage his workload for the first couple of months of the season. "They're going to take into account my rep range probably until halfway through the season, and then they're going to just pat me on the ass and send me out there and send me to the wolves," Kraft said. The 25-year-old is working his way back from an ACL tear that he suffered in Week 9 of the 2025 season. Prior to the injury, he had ranked as the overall TE1 in PPR leagues. While it's far from assured that Kraft will return to his overall TE1 form post-injury, we're still encouraged by the upside he offers, especially as the most dependable pass catcher in Green Bay's offense. As it stands, he has jumped to the TE5 spot in RotoBaller's latest redraft fantasy football rankings for 2026.

Cardinals Hopeful Jeremiyah Love Will be Ready for Week 1
The Arizona Cardinals are hopeful that rookie first-round running back Jeremiyah Love (ankle) will be ready for Week 1 against the Los Angeles Chargers, according to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN. Love handled 14 touches during his preseason debut against the Las Vegas Raiders on Thursday night, but he injured his ankle in the process. The No. 3 pick in the 2026 NFL Draft felt some soreness the day after the game, so he's not going to play in Week 2 of the preseason. It seems like Arizona is being abundantly cautious with the Notre Dame product, but we'll likely know more about his status as he recovers throughout the next week. Assuming he does play in Week 1, he should handle a sizable workload, even if he's sharing touches with James Conner (ankle) or Tyler Allgeier. Love ranks as the RB15 in RotoBaller's latest redraft rankings for fantasy football, and he's the RB4 in the latest dynasty rankings.

Aaron Donald Works Out for the Rams Again on Sunday
Retired defensive tackle Aaron Donald worked out for the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday, according to the NFL's transaction log (via Mike Garafolo of NFL.com). Donald, who is retired, previously worked out for the Rams on August 5 to see how he felt with pads on. It's unclear exactly why the Rams brought him for a second workout less than two weeks later, but there's evidently strong mutual interest in a reunion between the two sides. Donald spent his entire NFL career with the Rams from 2014 to 2023. He made the Pro Bowl in each of his 10 seasons, was an eight-time First Team All-Pro, won Defensive Rookie of the Year in 2014, and took home Defensive Player of the Year honors three different times. He still had a lot left in the tank when he retired after the 2023 season, during which he amassed 53 tackles, eight sacks, 23 quarterback hits, and 16 tackles for a loss. Despite taking two years off, we'd imagine Donald is still capable of playing quality football as a starting defensive tackle for the Super Bowl-hopeful Rams. It will be interesting to see if a deal comes to fruition in the coming days, especially now that the 35-year-old has worked out for his old team twice.

Ahmani Marshall, Raheim Sanders Competing for No. 3 RB Spot
Cleveland Browns running backs Ahmani Marshall and Raheim Sanders are competing for the No. 3 role, head coach Todd Monken told Scott Petrak of The Chronicle-Telegram. Marshall is an Appalachian State product who spent his rookie season in 2025 on the Browns' practice squad. He didn't get an offensive touch last year, but the Browns are encouraged by his development. Even though he rushed for just four yards on six carries during the Browns' preseason loss on Saturday, he contributed as a receiver with four targets, three catches, and 19 receiving yards. Sanders was also a rookie last year, but he got more game reps with 27 carries, three catches, 113 scrimmage yards, and a touchdown. The 24-year-old South Carolina product had two carries for nine yards in the preseason opener, and he also caught two passes for an additional seven receiving yards. Quinshon Judkins and Dylan Sampson are the clear top two running backs in Cleveland, and it doesn't sound like the Browns want to carry more than three players at the position, so the position battle between Marshall and Sanders will be quite important. Presumably, both backs will have more opportunities to win the roster battle throughout the next two weeks of the preseason.
