Zach Eflin Plays Catch, Feels Better
1 year agoTampa Bay Rays right-hander Zach Eflin (knee) said his left knee feels "10 times better" than it did on Thursday, a day after he was forced to leave his outing early against the Miami Marlins with left-knee discomfort. Playing catch on Friday went "better than expected," and he's "really optimistic" about continued improvement. However, it's too soon to know yet if he'll be able to make his next start on Tuesday against the New York Yankees, so fantasy managers should continue to consider him day-to-day. The good news is that Eflin won't need a trip to the injured list after an MRI ruled out any structural damage. The 29-year-old has been solid this year with an 11-6 record, 3.64 ERA, 1.02 WHIP and 116 strikeouts in 116 1/3 innings over his 20 starts.
