Yusei Kikuchi In A Better Place This Year
5 years agoSeattle Mariners starting pitcher Yusei Kikuchi, who struggled in his rookie season in 2019, tossed three scoreless innings in his spring start on Thursday and had five strikeouts. Kikuchi got his fastball up to 96 mph in the outing. "Compared to last year, I’m already in such a better spot," Kikuchi said through interpreter Kevin Ando. “Not just velocity-wise, but overall." With an ADP of 417 right now in fantasy drafts, the Japanese left-hander could be an excellent bargain late in deep mixed drafts. The 28-year-old had a 5.46 ERA, 1.52 WHIP and 116 K's in 161 2/3 innings over his 32 starts in 2019, so he won't cost you much at all.
