10 months agoThe New York Yankees are working through the details of a one-year, $8 million deal to re-sign starting pitcher CC Sabathia on Tuesday, according to a source. In what is expected to be Sabathia's last year of his career, he didn't want to look around on the open market and preferred to work out something quickly with the Yankees, where he has been since 2009. This could mean that the Yankees won't be bringing back fellow lefty starter J.A. Happ. Sabathia was a nice surprise in 2018, going 9-7 with a 3.65 ERA and 1.31 WHIP, but injuries can be a concern and he's no longer a high-strikeout hurler heading into his age-39 season. Sabathia can still be useful as a streamer in deep mixed leagues, however, when facing the right matchups.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
