Xander Bogaerts Exits Wednesday with a Sore Shoulder
Xander Bogaerts (shoulder) left the Padres' loss on Wednesday night in San Francisco in the sixth inning, and he is dealing with soreness in his left shoulder, according to Padres manager Mike Shildt. It's the same shoulder that Bogaerts fractured last season, and he said after the game that it has been bothering him for "a couple of days," especially when he is batting. Bogaerts is hitting just .238 this season with three homers, 11 stolen bases, and a .289 wOBA. He is just 3-for-21 (.143) over his last six games. The team may try to get him a few days off for the soreness to clear up. If he is out, Jose Iglesias would likely get most of the work at shortstop. The Padres finish their series against the Giants on Thursday afternoon and then head to Milwaukee for the weekend.
