9 months agoThe Chicago White Sox are active in the starting pitching market and have interest in free-agent starting pitchers Patrick Corbin and J.A. Happ, among others, according to sources. Reynaldo Lopez is the team's only current pitcher that threw 50-plus innings with a sub-4.00 ERA in 2018. It's fair to say the rebuilding White Sox have plenty of questions surrounding their rotation, even if they do have a lot of up-and-coming young talent. Corbin was one of the best starting pitchers in baseball this year and the veteran Happ was fantastic for the Yankees in the second half after being traded from the Blue Jays. Both are left-handers. The environment in Chicago isn't best suited for a starter, however, and both pitchers may prefer to sign with a team that has a better chance to contend immediately. Corbin is a fantasy ace, while Happ still has the strikeout stuff to be worth owning in mixed leagues.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
