Tyler Stephenson Getting A Breather
1 year agoCincinnati Reds catcher Tyler Stephenson is taking the day off on Monday with the team facing the Chicago Cubs at Wrigley Field. With Stephenson starting on the bench, Luke Maile will do the catching and bat ninth against Cubs right-hander Marcus Stroman. Stephenson has been a bit of a disappointment for fantasy managers in 2023, especially considering how well the Reds have played this year. The 26-year-old backstop is hitting .249/.332/.359 with only seven home runs, 37 RBI and 45 runs scored in 337 at-bats. He's been even worse in July, going 12-for-57 (.211) with a homer, two doubles, four RBI and 10 runs scored in 68 plate appearances over 21 games played. Hopefully, Stephenson can pick things up in August.
