Ty France Out On Sunday
1 year agoSeattle Mariners first baseman Ty France (elbow) is not in the team's starting lineup on Sunday as they take on the New York Mets in the series finale. Mike Ford will get the start at first base and is hitting seventh in the order against Mets right-hander Tylor Megill. It shouldn't be a surprise that France is resting on Sunday after he was removed from Saturday's game early after he was hit by a pitch on his right elbow. For now, consider the 29-year-old to be day-to-day and check back on Monday to see if he's back in there for the start of a series against the Reds in Cincinnati. After making his first All-Star team in 2022, France has been mediocre this year by hitting .254 (125-for-493) with 10 home runs, 51 RBI and 68 runs scored in 132 games and 560 trips to the plate.
