Trevor Williams Hit Hard Sunday
1 year agoWashington Nationals right-hander Trevor Williams had a start to forget on Sunday against the visiting Oakland Athletics, allowing five earned runs on six hits (three homers) while walking two and striking out four in 4 1/3 innings pitched. Williams was lucky to pick up a no-decision in an eventual 8-7 victory. Fantasy managers in deeper leagues might want to start looking for better options. The 31-year-old San Diego native is in a tough stretch over his last four starts, allowing 20 earned runs on 30 hits (eight homers) while walking seven and striking out 16 in 19 innings pitched. On the year as a whole, Williams is 5-7 with a 5.20 ERA (5.93 FIP), 1.52 WHIP, a league-high 28 long balls allowed, 40 walks and 90 K's in 117 2/3 innings (24 starts) in his first year in D.C.
