Trevor Story Won't Return Friday
1 year agoBoston Red Sox manager Alex Cora said that shortstop Trevor Story (elbow) won't be activated from the injured list on Friday. Cora pumped the brakes on a potential return this weekend for Story on Tuesday, but the 30-year-old's minor-league rehab assignment will be up next week regardless, so fantasy managers should expect him back then. Boston is taking their time with Story, who hasn't played in the big leagues since last September. In nine rehab games with Double-A Portland and Triple-A Worcester, he's gone 6-for-24 with three home runs, a double, six RBI, a stolen base and five runs scored. When he comes off the IL next week, Story is going to operate as Boston's starting shortstop for the rest of the 2023 season.
