Tampa Bay Rays right-handed pitching prospect T.J. Nichols struck out 10 hitters across seven innings of one-run ball against Double-A Biloxi on Thursday evening. This was a nice bounce-back outing for Nichols, as he allowed three runs across five innings in his last outing. Since serving up four runs on August 1, the No. 25-ranked prospect in the Tampa Bay system according to MLB.com has logged 25 innings to the tune of a 1.44 ERA, 0.92 WHIP, and a 26:5 K:BB. The 23-year-old opened the season with High-A but needed just 18 starts to prove he was ready to make the jump to Double-A. Given Nichols's strong start to his Double-A career, allowing just four runs across four starts, fantasy managers in dynasty formats should keep an eye on his progression as he should be in the mix to contend for his MLB debut next season.--Andy SmithRead More News
