2 years agoAtlanta Braves rookie right-hander Spencer Strider (oblique) was available out of the bullpen in the Game 2 win over the Philadelphia Phillies in the National League Division Series on Wednesday. Manager Brian Snitker still hasn't announced his Game 3 starter for Friday, so it's possible that Strider will get the nod, although it's probably more likely that veteran right-hander Charlie Morton will start. Strider finished the regular season on the injured list with an oblique strain and hasn't made a start since Sept. 18, so he'd have a very short leash if he were to start in this series. The 23-year-old was excellent in his first full major-league season, though, going 11-5 with a 2.67 ERA (1.83 FIP), a 0..99 WHIP, 202 strikeouts and 45 walks in 131 2/3 frames over 31 outings (20 starts).--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
