Spencer Howard To Start Saturday's Game Against Red Sox
4 years agoThe Philadelphia Phillies have called up starting pitcher Spencer Howard to start Saturday's game against the Boston Red Sox. Matt Moore (back) was placed on the injured list in a corresponding move. Howard has made three appearances for the Phillies this year, but all have been in relief. He's pitched 4.1 innings and allowed six hits, two walks and four earned runs while striking out eight. We'll see if he's able to fare any better in his first start of 2021. He pitched relatively well in his three short Triple-A starts before this call-up, pitching nine innings and allowing three hits, five walks and one earned run while striking out 13. He will likely be held to a maximum of about three to four innings on Saturday, making him an unexciting fantasy option.
