1 year agoNew York Yankees hitting coach Sean Casey has announced that he will not be returning to the position in 2024 after he was hired in July of the 2023 season. "I'm not gonna be able to come back next year (as Yankee hitting coach) because I have my two daughters at home," Casey said. "I think getting divorced a few years ago — I have those girls 50 percent of the time. I just can't imagine being away for eight months." Hiring a new hitting coach will be a top priority this offseason, as the Yankees' offense needs a lot of help. They finished with the second-worst team batting average (.227) in 2023 and also finished with the 27th-ranked team on-base percentage (.304).
