Frankie Montas Done for the Season
Frankie Montas (elbow) was placed on the 15-day injured list on Saturday. It sounds like Montas has a significant UCL injury that could require Tommy John surgery. Ouch, this isn't what anyone wanted to see considering Montas didn't even make his season debut until June. The right-hander was struggling on the mound and was sent to the bullpen earlier this month. That being said, the Mets aren't going to take too big of a blow by losing Montas considering he wasn't a starter anymore. The 32-year-old is a free agent after the season, so potential Tommy John surgery could be extremely bad for his value.
