Samaje Perine - Week 2 Outlook for Fantasy Football
1 year agoDenver Broncos running back Samaje Perine had the exact same snap share (45 percent) as backfield mate Javonte Williams in the Week 1 loss to the Las Vegas Raiders. This was expected with the Broncos wanting to ease Williams in after he tore both his ACL and LCL in Week 4 of last year. Perine had 12 touches to Williams' 17, although Perine was more efficient with eight carries for 41 yards and four receptions for 37 yards. As the season wears on, Perine is expected to become less valuable to fantasy managers as Williams gains a bigger share of the backfield touches. However, he looked pretty explosive in the season opener and should still have a significant role as a runner and pass-catcher in Week 2 against the Washington Commanders this Sunday. Perine is still in play as an RB3/flex this weekend in fantasy, albeit in a less-than-stellar matchup.
