Ryan Ritter Begins Rehab Assignment at Triple-A
Ryan Ritter (finger) began his rehab assignment at Triple-A Albuquerque on Tuesday. The Rockies' 12th-ranked prospect has been on the shelf with a lacerated finger, not having played in a game since July 19. The 24-year-old went 1-for-4 with two RBI for the Isotopes in Tuesday's contest. The Rockies are currently rolling with Adael Amador at second base since Thairo Estrada (hamstring) hit the injured list, but will probably be inclined to use Ritter there once healthy. Ritter hit .238 with four doubles, two triples, and a home run in 31 games for Colorado earlier this season, although a 31.0 percent strikeout rate will need to improve if he's going to stick around, and he's best left on fantasy waiver wires for now.
