Russell Wilson Eventually Gets Going In Preseason Opener
1 year agoDenver Broncos quarterback Russell Wilson eventually got going in the team's preseason opener on Friday night in an eventual 18-17 loss to the Arizona Cardinals. Wilson went 7-for-13 for 92 yards and a 21-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver Jerry Jeudy. It wasn't all great, though, as Wilson was sacked once and fumbled, although he was able to recover his own fumble. In his first game action under new head coach Sean Payton, Wilson went 4-for-9 for 49 yards on the first three series before clicking on the final drive. It was nice to see the starting offense finish strong, but questions remain as to whether Payton can fix Wilson after the worst season of his career in 2022 in his first year in Denver. On the first three drives, Wilson and the Broncos offense looked a lot like last year's disappointing unit.
