Royce Lewis Limited In Spring Training
2 years agoAs he rehabs from a torn ACL in his right knee, Minnesota Twins shortstop/outfielder Royce Lewis is only approved to perform around 75 percent of baseball activities in spring training. He is nearly eight months removed from his second ACL surgery, but Lewis isn't sure when he'll be cleared for full baseball activities. His next check-in with his doctor is scheduled for March 8-9. The 23-year-old isn't expected to be able to make his 2023 debut until sometime in late June or early July, so he'll miss most of the first half of the season. Prior to his injury last year, Lewis was hitting the ball very well. With Carlos Correa now back with the team, Lewis' playing time with the big-league club is somewhat in question, but the team should find a spot for him in the second half if he picks up where he left off in 2022 before his injury.
