Rangers Sign First-Rounder Wyatt Langford
1 year agoThe Texas Rangers officially signed first-round outfielder Wyatt Langford for $8 million on Tuesday. The pick value for the fourth overall selection was $7.698 million. The Florida Gators outfielder had the best power in this year's draft. He was able to hit an impressive .373/.498/.784 with 21 home runs and 28 doubles in his final collegiate season, and he has the athleticism to remain in center field once he makes it to the big leagues. Langford ties for the fifth-highest bonus ever. The 21-year-old has 30-homer, 30-steal upside for fantasy managers eventually, and he's likely to rise quickly through Texas' farm system in the coming years.
