Patrick Bailey Might Have A Concussion
1 year agoSan Francisco Giants manager Gabe Kapler said that rookie catcher Patrick Bailey (head) might have a concussion after Jeimer Candelario slid into him in the seventh inning of Tuesday's game against the Chicago Cubs. Bailey was feeling light-headed after the 11-8 loss at Wrigley Field. The 24-year-old didn't start Tuesday's game but entered as a pinch-hitter late in the contest. Bailey will be put through the league's concussion protocol and could land on the seven-day concussion injured list. Blake Sabol, who got the start on Tuesday, would become San Fran's primary backstop if Bailey is forced to miss additional time. In his first 83 major-league games this year, Bailey has hit .249/.305/.391 with seven home runs, 45 RBI and 26 runs scored in 307 plate appearances.
