Panthers May Still Move On From Cam Newton
5 years agoThe Carolina Panthers have stated that they are behind quarterback Cam Newton, but ESPN.com's Matthew Berry isn't so sure. According to insiders, the Panthers don't want to just give Newton away, but they would deal him if a reasonable offer was made. It's less of a sure thing that Newton is the team's starting quarterback this season than most people may think. Right now, they are just trying to see how healthy he is after he played in just two games in 2019 due to a foot issue. His fantasy value has crumbled after two straight injury plagued seasons, but Newton is one of the most dynamic quarterbacks in the league when he's healthy. All of the uncertainty around his health will make him more of a QB2 as things stand right now, however.
