Chicago Cubs right-hander
Ryan Pressly picked up a save in his team's 3-2 win over the Pittsburgh Pirates on Thursday. Pressly tossed a scoreless ninth inning without allowing a baserunner on the way to earning his fifth save in as many chances for the Cubs. It was the 36-year-old's first save since April as the Cubs have turned to
Daniel Palencia, who pitched the eighth, as their preferred closer. Pressly now has a 2-2 record, 3.81 ERA, 1.54 WHIP, and 16 strikeouts over 26 innings of work this season. It is likely that the Cubs were just playing the matchups with Pressly and Palencia flipping roles on Thursday. Look for Pressly to return to his setup role moving forward.

San Francisco Giants first baseman
Dominic Smith had a big night in his team's 8-7 loss to the Colorado Rockies on Thursday. Smith went 3-for-4 with a homer, a walk, two runs, and three RBI but it wasn't quite enough in the one-run loss. The veteran launched a three-run homer in the fifth inning to push the Giants' lead to 7-2. Smith signed with the Giants in early June after the New York Yankees released him. He has appeared in eight games, hitting .320 with one homer, three runs, seven RBI, and one stolen base. He will look to stay hot as he gets more at-bats under his belt this season.

Milwaukee Brewers left-handed pitching prospect
Robert Gasser (elbow) is scheduled to face hitters in a live batting practice session in Arizona this week. Gasser, the team's No. 11 prospect per MLB Pipeline, will be facing hitters for the first time this week since having Tommy John surgery last June. The 26-year-old southpaw will be brought along slowly before eventually going on what will be a lengthy minor-league rehab assignment. Even if Gasser doesn't have any setbacks along the way, he probably won't be able to return to the big-league starting rotation until later in the season. He went 2-0 with a 2.57 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 16:1 K:BB in his first five major-league starts last year before getting hurt. For fantasy purposes, he won't really be a valuable contributor until next season, when he should have a great shot to win a rotation spot out of spring training as long as he's healthy.

Milwaukee Brewers manager Pat Murphy said that outfielder
Blake Perkins (shin) is scheduled to report to Triple-A Nashville on June 25 to start his minor-league rehab assignment. Perkins has had a slow go of it during his rehab from a fractured right shin that has kept him out for the entire 2025 season. The 28-year-old is getting close to playing in games again, but that doesn't mean that he'll be ready to rejoin the major-league roster before the All-Star break in mid-July. Perkins, a switch-hitter, was originally a second-round pick by the Washington Nationals in 2015. He made his big-league debut in 2023 with Milwaukee and has hit .234 (123-for-526) with 10 home runs, 63 RBI, 82 runs and 28 stolen bases in 188 games in his two big-league seasons. Given Milwaukee's crowded outfield, the defense-first Perkins figure to be a bench bat with plenty of speed to spare when he comes off the injured list.

Colorado Rockies second base prospect
Adael Amador went 3-for-5 with a home run and three RBI in Thursday's 9-8 win over Triple-A Oklahoma City. Amador has been highly productive all season, hitting .306/.394/.482 with four homers and four steals in 99 plate appearances. The 22-year-old was promoted to the majors on April 13 and spent 33 games with the club. He struggled a bit, as he produced just a .465 OPS. Amador has strong contact skills and speed with some pop and should be expected to return to the majors shortly. He'd make for a solid add for managers in need of some stolen bases.

Updating a previous report, Milwaukee Brewers right-handed pitching prospect
Jacob Misiorowski (calf, quadriceps) was pulled from his major-league debut on Thursday night against the division-rival St. Louis Cardinals with cramping in his right calf and quadriceps, according to the team. Despite the cramping issues, Misiorowski dazzled in his debut, throwing five shutout and no-hit innings with four walks and five strikeouts to pick up his first MLB win. The 23-year-old is the club's No. 4 prospect, per MLB Pipeline, and should be able to make his next scheduled start for the Brew Crew. If he isn't already rostered in your league, it's time to scoop him up off the waiver wire. The 6-foot-7, 197-pounder is easily one of the best pitching prospects in the game, with his fastball, curveball and slider all capable of generating plenty of swings and misses.

Los Angeles Dodgers shortstop prospect
Alex Freeland went 2-for-3 with a solo home run, double, and two additional runs scored on Thursday against Triple-A Albuquerque. Freeland was on base four times in this one as he tacked on two walks to stuff the box score. The 23-year-old has had an interesting month of June so far, as he is only hitting .171, but has more walks than strikeouts. His BABIP is just .143 for the month so far, and he is hitting the ball hard at 40.9 percent, so he has just been a bit unlucky. Freeland has good power and a sound approach and should be expected to be promoted to the majors at some point this summer. Depending on what his playing time looks like, he would be a solid speculative add in deeper formats.

Baltimore Orioles catcher prospect
Samuel Basallo went 2-for-4 with a solo home run on Thursday against Triple-A Nashville. Basallo has gone ballistic in June, smashing five homers in seven games. He is hitting .333/.438/.889 in 32 plate appearances. The 20-year-old has an incredible combination of raw power and contact ability, and he's also improved his walk rate significantly this season. The top prospect leads Triple-A in barrel rate at 22.9 percent and doesn't have too much left to prove in the minors. With the Orioles' lineup getting healthier, Basallo may not be up in the near term, but maybe around the trade deadline is a fair target time. He would be a priority add in virtually all formats.

Seiya Suzuki cracked one of the club's two home runs in a 3-2 victory against the Pittsburgh Pirates on Thursday. Suzuki went deep against left-hander
Andrew Heaney in the bottom of the sixth inning for his 17th HR and 57th RBI of the season. He finished the evening 1-for-3 and is now slashing a strong .266/.325/.548 in 289 plate appearances. Suzuki averaged 20 homers and 73 RBI over the previous two seasons, but he's on pace to surpass those numbers with ease in 2025. The 30-year-old will face a difficult test Friday against Pirates star righty
Paul Skenes. Suzuki is 3-for-11 with a homer, four strikeouts, and a walk against the ace.

Pete Crow-Armstrong homered Thursday to help the club to a 3-2 win over the Pittsburgh Pirates. Crow-Armstrong snapped a scoreless tie in the bottom of the fourth with a two-run jack against left-hander
Andrew Heaney. The breakout star finished the night 1-for-3 and upped his line to .271/.305/.554 with 18 homers, 51 RBI, and 21 steals in 288 plate appearances. Crow-Armstrong has had the overwhelming majority of his success versus right-handed pitchers, so it was encouraging to see him pick up his fourth round-tripper of the year against a southpaw. He'll face an ace righty, the Pirates'
Paul Skenes, on Friday. Crow-Armstrong has gone 2-for-8 with an RBI and two strikeouts in their matchups.

Washington Nationals third base prospect
Brady House went 1-for-4 with a home run and two RBI in Thursday's 6-4 loss against Triple-A Jacksonville. The 22-year-old has been on fire so far in June with a 1.026 OPS and three home runs. It is worth noting, however, that he has yet to take a walk in June and is still striking out over 30 percent of the time. The slugger has held strong quality of contact metrics with a 46.6 percent hard-hit rate and 10.3 percent barrel rate, and should be receiving a promotion to the majors at some point this summer. He is ranked as the number 91 overall prospect on MLB.com and would be worthy of a speculative add in most formats.

Houston Astros left-hander
Framber Valdez (7-4) mowed down the Chicago White Sox on Thursday to collect his seventh win of the season. The Astros pulled out a 4-3 victory thanks in large part to Valdez, who struck out 12 over five innings of two-run ball. He scattered seven hits, issued just one walk, and generated 20 whiffs during the 95-pitch outing. Fresh off back-to-back starts of double-digit strikeouts, the 31-year-old boasts a 96:28 K:BB and a 3.10 ERA over 90 frames. Valdez has logged seven straight quality starts and will attempt to extend that streak Wednesday against the Athletics.

Cincinnati Reds pitching prospect
Chase Burns allowed two runs on four hits and four walks while striking out seven across 5 1/3 innings against Triple-A Iowa. The four walks were the most in a game this season for the right-hander. He still generated plenty of whiffs, with 13 on 37 swings. Adjusting to the automatic balls and strikes system used at Triple-A will be something to monitor with Burns. The flamethrower eviscerated hitters over his last seven starts in Double-A with an absurd 34.8 percent K-BB rate. He is currently ranked as the No. 11 overall prospect on MLB.com and should be expected to make his debut sometime this summer. He would be a priority add in virtually all fantasy formats when that happens.

Houston Astros third baseman
Isaac Paredes (hamstring) hit a key home run to help the club to a 4-3 win over the Chicago White Sox on Thursday. Paredes' solo blast, his team-leading 15th of the year, gave the Astros a 4-2 lead in the bottom of the fifth inning. He ended the night 1-for-3 before
Mauricio Dubon replaced him at third base in the top of the eighth. Manager Joe Espada announced after the game that Paredes departed with a left-hamstring issue, per Chandler Rome of The Athletic. The Astros will have more information on Paredes on Friday. The 26-year-old has emerged as a major part of the Astros' offense this season with a .255/.353/.478 slash line, 42 RBI, and a career-high 12.3% walk rate in 292 plate appearances. The hope is that he won't require a stint on the injured list.

Milwaukee Brewers outfielder
Jackson Chourio slugged his 12th home run of the year in a 6-0 win over the St. Louis Cardinals on Thursday. Chourio's two-run homer, a 410-footer against right-hander
Sonny Gray, capped off a five-run fifth inning for the Brew Crew. It was his only hit in a 1-for-4 night. The 21-year-old is batting a middling .257/.282/.453 with a microscopic 3.2% walk rate in 308 plate appearances, but he's still racking up impressive counting stats. Chourio burst on the scene as a rookie in 2024 with 21 homers, 22 stolen bases, 79 RBI, and 80 runs scored in 148 games. Along with his dozen HRs this year, he has already amassed 41 RBI, 13 steals, and 41 runs in 69 contests. He'll attempt to add to those totals Friday against Cardinals starter
Erick Fedde. Chourio has collected just one hit in seven at-bats against the right-hander.
