The Houston Texans have re-signed tight end Irv Smith to a one-year deal on Friday. Smith spent most of the 2024 season on the practice squad in Houston. He did end up playing five games with the Texans, but didn't contribute anything on offense. The 26-year-old is a former second-round pick of the Minnesota Vikings. Smith was never really able to live up to the hype or establish himself as a starter in the NFL. He figures to serve as a backup in Houston once again which probably won't amount to much or any fantasy value.--Andy Webb - RotoBallerSource: Adam Schefter

The Houston Texans have quickly seen their wide receiver room get depleted over the last few months. The team lost Stefon Diggs to free agency and Tank Dell (knee) is given an uncertain timetable after suffering a multi-ligament tear in his knee. The Texans did bring in Christian Kirk to pair with Nico Collins at the top of the depth chart. After that, John Metchie III, Justin Watson, and Xavier Hutchinson are rounding out the depth chart. That being said, the Texans are likely going to draft some wideouts during the upcoming NFL Draft. The team is likely seeking NFL-ready prospects given the organization is lacking playmakers right now. Collins should be considered a safe WR1, but after that the Texans don't have too many reliable contributors at the moment.--Andy Webb - RotoBallerSource: ESPN

Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Greg Dortch has agreed to a new contract with the organization. The two sides have come to terms on a one-year, $3.3 million contract for the upcoming 2025 season. The 26-year-old was a solid rotational player for the Cardinals last season. He finished with 37 receptions, 342 receiving yards, and three touchdowns in 17 games (four starts) in 2024. Right now, Dortch is penciled in as the third wideout on the roster. However, that could change with the NFL Draft coming up later this month. This doesn't mean too much in terms of fantasy football, but Dortch is a nice depth piece for this roster.--Andy Webb - RotoBallerSource: cardinals.com

Baltimore Ravens tight end Mark Andrews is reportedly on the trade block. The organization would reportedly like to trade Andrews during the upcoming NFL draft weekend. It's worth noting that the organization wants strong value in return for Andrews. That being said, it seems unlikely that an organization would be willing to pay top dollar for an aging tight end. The 29-year-old hasn't finished with over 70 receptions or 700-plus receiving yards in a single season since 2022. Andrews is still a capable tight end, but the big mistakes in the playoffs certainly aren't going to help his case. There aren't a ton of reliable tight ends available right now, so maybe a team will make a move for Andrews.--Andy Webb - RotoBallerSource: New York Times

Miami Dolphins defensive back Jalen Ramsey might've already played his last snap as part of the organization. The organization recently went public by saying they wanted to trade Ramsey in a move that would be in the best interest of the team as a whole. Basically, the Dolphins gave Ramsey a hefty extension and now they regret it. The biggest problem is that Ramsey is owed $21.1 million in guaranteed money for the upcoming season. It's going to be tough to find a buyer for an aging veteran defensive back on a big deal. However, the Las Vegas Raiders and Atlanta Falcons are being named as potential landing spots for Ramsey. The Dolphins are unlikely to get much of a return if they want the other team to take on the salary. It sounds like Miami wants to get a deal done during draft weekend, so we'll see if they can find a suitable candidate.--Andy Webb - RotoBallerSource: CBS Sports

The Las Vegas Raiders are reportedly in love with Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty. The Raiders have the No. 6 overall pick in the draft and it sounds like they plan to take Jeanty. This would be a huge upgrade for the Raiders who currently rank as one of the worst in the league at the running back position. They added Raheem Mostert over the offseason, but Jeanty would come in as a Day 1 starter. The expectation is that Jeanty would see a heavy workload on any team that drafts him. It wouldn't be surprising if Jeanty holds first-round value in fantasy drafts if he lands in Las Vegas. This seems like a good fit as new head coach Pete Carroll looks to quickly turn around this roster.--Andy Webb - RotoBallerSource: CBS Sports

Chicago Bears wide receiver Rome Odunze didn't have the ideal rookie season. The Bears used the 9th overall pick from last year's draft on Odunze, which came with high expectations. The 22-year-old finished with 54 receptions, 734 receiving yards, and three touchdowns in 17 games (12 starts) with Chicago. It sounds like the Bears believe Odunze can take a big step forward in his second season. Bears assistant head coach Antwaan Randle El is a big believer in Odunze. He recently said he wants to get Odunze the ball in a bunch of different ways. New head coach Ben Johnson is going to bring in a new scheme that should hopefully open up Odunze to do more work than just catching screens. It sounds like the Bears have big plans for Odunze, so dynasty managers should dump him yet.--Andy Webb - RotoBallerSource: Chicago Tribune

The Miami Dolphins have 10 total picks heading into the upcoming NFL Draft. It's worth noting that four of those picks are in the first three rounds. That being said, it wouldn't be surprising to see the Dolphins draft a quarterback on Day 2 or Day 3. Tua Tagovailoa is viewed as the franchise quarterback in Miami, but his concussion history is concerning. The Dolphins signed Zach Wilson as their backup, but he has failed to establish himself as a viable option as a starter when given the chance. Possibly, the Dolphins bring in another quarterback as a third option. It's never a bad idea to get more depth especially when your starting quarterback has an injury history like Tagovailoa. The Dolphins could draft a project-type quarterback to develop over the next few seasons.--Andy Webb - RotoBallerSource: CBS Sports

Buffalo Bills running back James Cook has been vocal about wanting a contract extension. Cook reportedly wants an extension worth $15 million per season. It doesn't seem that the Bills and Cook are seeing eye-to-eye on that topic. That being said, it wouldn't be shocking to see Cook stay away from voluntary workouts. It seems unlikely that Cook will sit out actual regular season games, but possibly he'll miss workouts to increase the pressure on the organization. Cook is deserving of a new contract after rushing for 1,009 yards with a career-high 16 touchdowns this past season. The Bills have already handed out extensions to other players, so maybe Cook isn't as valued to Buffalo as he thinks. Ultimately, the two sides should get a deal done, but it wouldn't be shocking to see Cook try to leverage the situation.--Andy Webb - RotoBallerSource: New York Times

The San Francisco 49ers announced on Thursday that tight end Jake Tonges and offensive lineman Austen Pleasants signed their one-year, exclusive-rights tenders. Both players will return to the Bay Area for the 2025 season. Tonges, 25, began his career with the Chicago Bears in 2022 and appeared in 16 games with the Niners in 2024 but was not used at all on offense on just 34 snaps. He'll make $1.03 million this year after re-signing. Instead, he played 232 snaps on special teams and had two solo tackles. The former undrafted free agent out of California will most likely serve in a similar role as a special-teams ace for San Fran in 2025. Pleasants, 27, started his career in 2021 with the Carolina Panthers and then played for the Los Angeles Chargers in 2023 and with the Niners last year. He has appeared in just five NFL games over three seasons.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerSource: San Francisco 49ers

New Orleans Saints right tackle Ryan Ramczyk announced his retirement from the NFL on Thursday after spending all seven of his seasons with the Saints. The 30-year-old was taken with the 32nd overall pick in the first round in the 2017 NFL draft by the Saints out of the University of Wisconsin. He earned All-Pro honors for three straight seasons from 2018-20. During his time in the NFL, Ramczyk was one of the best right tackles in the league, but a cartilage defect in his knee caused him to miss the entire 2024 season, and now he's hanging up his cleats for good. Ramczyk didn't miss a single game in his first four seasons, but his knee began bothering him in 2021, causing him to miss seven games. He is retiring after 101 career starts in the Big Easy.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerSource: ESPN.com - Katherine Terrell

Free-agent cornerback Tre'Davious White agreed to terms with his former team, the Buffalo Bills, on a one-year deal with a maximum value up to $6.8 million on Thursday, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero. White will return to the team that selected him 27th overall in the 2017 NFL draft out of LSU. The 30-year-old veteran was named to two Pro Bowls and also was a first-team All-Pro selection in 2019 in his seven seasons with the Bills from 2017-23. White spent the 2024 season with the Los Angeles Rams and Baltimore Ravens, totaling 22 tackles (16 solo) and five pass breakups in 11 games (four starts) while dealing with injuries. He will mainly be trying to stay healthy in his return to Buffalo to give them experienced depth in the secondary. White hasn't played in more than 11 games in a season since 2020, his last Pro Bowl campaign.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerSource: NFL Network - Tom Pelissero
