5 days agoNew York Mets outfielder Harrison Bader went 2-for-5 with a home run, two RBI, and two runs scored in Wednesday's 10-4 win over the Marlins. The home run was Bader's fourth of the season. He's now got a .266-4-25-23-8 line on the season but is hitting just .231 in June, albeit with two doubles and two home runs. The 30-year-old offers some multi-category appeal in deeper 14+ team leagues, but in shallow leagues, he should probably be left on the waiver wire.--Jarod Rupp - RotoBallerSource: ESPN

5 days agoColorado Rockies utility prospect Cole Carrigg turned in another stellar performance on Wednesday, where he tallied four hits and stole three bases. Since June 1, the 22-year-old has swiped six bags, with a .489/.540/.644 line. Through his first 52 games at the High-A level this season, the San Diego State product has looked quite comfortable with a .298/.381/.478 slash line, 24 stolen bases, and five home runs. While his power potential is quite low, Carrigg has elite contact and speed that should continue to play well throughout the minor leagues. Dynasty managers should keep a close eye on Carrigg as he is developing into one of the best base stealers in the minors and could reach Double-A later this summer.--Andy Smith - RotoBallerSource: MiLB.com
Share:
5 days agoOakland Athletics outfield prospect Denzel Clarke posted his first three-hit game of the season on Wednesday, where he went 3-for-4 with two doubles, a triple, and one RBI. This performance snapped a three-game hitless streak. Through 44 games with Double-A Midland this season, Clarke has struggled with a .201/.267/.348 line, just four long balls, and 19 RBI. Last season, in 64 games at this level, he held a much better .261/.381/.496 line with 12 home runs and 43 RBI. However, Since May 19, the 24-year-old has been riding a much-improved .244 AVG, which is a good sign going forward. He should continue to be monitored by dynasty managers and could become an interesting stash once he reaches Triple-A.--Andy Smith - RotoBallerSource: MiLB.com
Share:
5 days agoBoston Red Sox shortstop David Hamilton went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run in Wednesday's 8-6 win over the Phillies, logging his fourth straight two-hit game and fifth in his last six. During the six-game stretch, Hamilton is 10-for-26 (.385) with three doubles, two home runs, three RBI, five runs scored, and four stolen bases. On the season the 26-year-old has a .296-4-10-21-13 line with a .358 wOBA and 128 wRC+. He's been an under-the-radar source of steals, is eligible at 2B/SS in Yahoo leagues for managers looking for some help, and is available in over 60% of Yahoo leagues.--Jarod Rupp - RotoBallerSource: ESPN
Share:
5 days agoNew York Yankees catcher Jose Trevino went 2-for-4 with a home run and three RBI in Wednesday's 11-5 win over the Royals. The home run was his sixth of the season, and the backstop now has 23 RBI, 17 runs scored, a .324 wOBA, and 112 wRC+. The 31-year-old has performed well when he's been in the lineup and has decidedly better numbers than Austin Wells, but they split time evenly (138 PA for Trevino, 132 for Wells) so for fantasy you probably prefer someone who gets more regular at-bats.--Jarod Rupp - RotoBallerSource: ESPN
Share:
5 days agoLos Angeles Angels shortstop Zach Neto fell a triple shy of the cycle in Wednesday's 8-3 win over the Diamondbacks, going 3-for-5, including his eighth home run of the season. The 23-year-old also had two RBI and scored twice. After a slow start, Neto is coming off a month of May that saw him slash .284/.337/.477 with a .355 wOBA and 130 wRC+. He also lowered his K% from 30.6% in April to 17.9% in May. So far in June the K% is 18.9%, so he's still making contact despite the low .229 BA during the month, likely a result of an abnormally low .231 BABIP, so this three-hit game could be the beginning of a hot streak.--Jarod Rupp - RotoBallerSource: ESPN
Share:
5 days agoLos Angeles Angels outfielder Jo Adell went 1-for-4 in Wednesday's 8-3 win over the Diamondbacks, with his lone hit being the 25-year-old's 12th home run of the season, which was a 434-foot blast that drove in three runs. Adell also walked once in the contest. The former first-round draft pick looked like he had finally put it all together during the first month of the season, slashing .316/.365/.614 with a palatable 22.2% K% in April. May saw that slashline drop to .144/.212/.389 with a high 33.0% K%, but June has seen lower lows with a .133/.212/.267 line with an astronomical 39.4% K%. His history suggests he won't turn things around and if there's a power outage, he'll offer little fantasy value. Hopefully fantasy managers were able to sell high on Adell when they had the chance.--Jarod Rupp - RotoBallerSource: ESPN

5 days agoWashington Nationals third base prospect Brady House went 1-for-4 with a home run for Double-A Harrisburg on Wednesday night. It was the 10th homer of the season for House, the Nationals' No. 3 prospect. The home run was a welcome sight for the third baseman, who hadn't homered since May 21. In his first season at Double-A, the 21-year-old is hitting .236 with 10 homers and 25 RBI with three stolen bases and a .737 OPS. At 6-foot-4, House is an imposing presence at the plate and has shown plus power. He rocketed up three levels last season, finishing at Double-A. His power profile and hit tool make him an intriguing prospect, but at age 21, he might need some more seasoning in the minors before he is ready to impact the Nationals. House should already be on the radar in dynasty leagues, but it could be a year or two before managers see him make his mark in re-draft leagues.--Brian BuckeySource: MLB Pipeline
Share:
5 days agoLos Angeles Angels starting pitcher Jose Soriano logged his second straight quality start in Wednesday's 8-3 victory over the Diamondbacks. The 25-year-old went eight innings, allowing two runs on five hits and two walks while striking out five on his way to securing the win. It brings his record to 4-5 on the season, posting a respectable 3.48 ERA (3.90 FIP) and 1.18 WHIP, albeit with a low 7.47 K/9 and 10.8% K-BB%. He'll try to make it three quality starts in a row when the righty makes his next start on Monday at home against Milwaukee.--Jarod Rupp - RotoBallerSource: ESPN
Share:
5 days agoChicago Cubs outfield prospect Owen Caissie was 1-for-5 with a home run on Wednesday night for Triple-A Iowa. Caissie went deep for the fourth time in June and racked up his 11th RBI in nine games so far this month. The No. 2 overall prospect for the Cubs is hitting .278 with seven homers and 35 RBI this season for Iowa. In a full season at Double-A last year, Caissie hit 22 homers with 84 RBI and a .289 batting average. The 21-year-old Canadian is making a case for his promotion with his hot start to June. A late-season call-up would put him on the waiver-wire radar, but a 2025 debut could be the most likely scenario.--Brian BuckeySource: The Call Up Prospect Podcast
Share:
5 days agoNew York Yankees catcher/first base prospect Ben Rice wasted little time making an impact following his promotion to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. The 25-year-old hit a home run in each of his first three games with the RailRiders. He has a hit in six of his first seven games with the Triple-A club and multi-hit efforts in five of those games. The Dartmouth product is red-hot out of the gates at a new level. He is the No. 12 overall prospect in the Yankees' system. So far, he has split time at catcher and first base at Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. His position versatility and power-speed potential (15 homers and nine steals between two levels this season) make him an intriguing prospect. The catcher landscape in fantasy can be a bit barren sometimes, and Rice's bat looks like it could play if given an opportunity.--Brian BuckeySource: MILB.com
Share:
5 days agoBoston Red Sox first base prospect Niko Kavadas is just 4-for-28 in June for Triple-A Worcester. He does have two homers and five RBIs in eight games this month but has accumulated a .393 slugging percentage. The first baseman has shown that he can get on base at an elite rate in Triple-A this season with a .412 on-base percentage and has shown plus power with 12 homers and 37 RBI. With Red Sox first baseman Triston Casas (ribs) still recovering from a rib injury, Kavadas is an interesting name to monitor. The 25-year-old is not among the top 30 prospects in the Red Sox system, but his numbers at Worcester this year suggest he could help in a pinch at the big league level. Despite an early June swoon, Kavadas has turned heads at Triple-A with his production and ability to get on base.--Brian BuckeySource: MILB.com
Share:
5 days agoBaltimore Orioles outfield prospect Enrique Bradfield Jr. went 1-for-3 with two RBI on Wednesday for High-A Aberdeen. Bradfield's lone hit would be his first professional home run. Bradfield was the club's first-round pick in 2023 and MLB Pipeline has him as the Orioles No.5 prospect in a loaded system. Bradfield offers incredible speed on the basepaths and in the field, while having a great eye at the plate, but he still needs to improve his bat at the dish. With the Orioles system stacked, especially at the outfield position, Bradfield is only a stash option in dynasty leagues with his big-league debut a few seasons away.--Daniel Burdeen - RotoBallerSource: Milb.com
Share:
5 days agoWashington Nationals outfielder Robert Hassell III (undisclosed) was placed on the 7-day injured list for Double-A Harrisburg on Wednesday. There was no word as to what the injury is that he is dealing with as he played the previous evening. Prior to being placed on the injured, the 22-year-old was hitting .278 with three homers, 14 RBI and 11 stolen bases. After spending most of last season with Harrisburg and doing well this season, Hassell was pushing for a promotion to Triple-A. The extent of his injury is still unknown, but more should be known as the days go on to determine a return date. Hassell has a good swing from the left-handed side, but needs to improve his plate discipline before reaching the big leagues. He remains a stash in dynasty leagues only.--Daniel Burdeen - RotoBallerSource: Bobby Blanco
Share:
5 days agoCleveland Guardians pitching prospect Alex Clemmey put together another strong outing for Single-A Lynchburg on Wednesday. The left-hander tossed 4 2/3 innings and allowed three hits, zero runs, zero walks and recorded eight strikeouts on the evening. Clemmey was drafted in the second round of the 2023 draft and got off to a rough start in his debut season, but he has thrown to an impressive 1.93 ERA over his last four starts and continues to trend up. MLB Pipeline has Clenney as the Guardians No. 8 prospect and the 18-year-old should be in good hands as the Guardians have been one of the best franchises in terms of developing pitchers over the past decade. As it stands, Clemmey is years away from a potential debut and only a name for dynasty managers to file away for now.--Daniel Burdeen - RotoBallerSource: Milb.com
