Coby Mayo Sent Back To Triple-A
Coby Mayo to Triple-A Norfolk after Thursday's game to make room for the return of outfielder Tyler O'Neill (neck) from the 10-day injured list. Although Mayo played in just four games in his second stint in the big leagues after a disappointing debut performance in 2024, he had just one hit in 12 at-bats with a walk and six strikeouts, and he also didn't endear himself to the coaching staff with his play on defense. In his first 21 big-league games, the team's No. 2-ranked prospect per MLB Pipeline, has gone 5-for-53 (.094) with no homers or RBI, five walks and 28 strikeouts. Mayo will head back to Norfolk for the time being but should rejoin Baltimore sooner than later as he looks to finally break through at the major-league level this year. Fantasy managers in dynasty/keeper leagues are getting frustrated.
