Will Zalatoris Enters PGA Championship With Major Concerns
Will Zalatoris appeared to be rounding into form earlier this season, posting seven straight finishes of T48 or better, including five top-30s, before missing the cut at The Masters. Since then, he's finished outside the top 50 in consecutive starts and has lost nearly 13.5 strokes putting over his last three events. He'll look to bounce back at the PGA Championship, held this year at Quail Hollow, where he has struggled in the past with a T60 in 2024 and a missed cut in 2021 during the Truist Championship. Quail Hollow is a demanding track at over 7,500 yards and a par 71, which doesn't suit Zalatoris particularly well. He ranks just 105th in driving distance and 81st in strokes gained off the tee (plus-0.097 per round), though his approach game remains solid, gaining 0.543 strokes per round. He is also 159th in putting, losing 0.456 strokes per round. While he has shown the ability to compete in majors in the past, three straight missed cuts at majors and a cold putter make him a player to avoid at $8,700 on DraftKings this week.
