Veteran right-handed reliever
Craig Kimbrel signed a minor-league deal with the Texas Rangers on Tuesday, a source tells The Athletic's Ken Rosenthal. The Atlanta Braves recently recalled Kimbrel up from the minors but then designated him for assignment after just one appearance out of their bullpen. He elected free agency and has quickly latched on with another team. The 37-year-old will likely start at Triple-A Round Rock, but there's a good chance he'll find his way back to the big leagues before long in some sort of high-leverage setup role. Kimbrel held a nice 2.00 ERA, 0.94 WHIP, three saves, 23 strikeouts and nine walks in 18 relief innings with Double-A Columbus and Triple-A Gwinnett in the Braves organization. The nine-time All-Star has saved 440 games in his 16-year MLB career, but he faces an uphill battle to get back into fantasy relevance the rest of the 2025 season.

Jacob Wilson is not in the team's lineup against the Los Angeles Angels on Tuesday. It's not yet known why the Athletics scratched Wilson from their starting nine.
Max Schuemann will take his place at shortstop and bat eighth. The 23-year-old Wilson is enjoying a sensational rookie season with a .366/.402/.520 line, eight home runs, and five stolen bases in 272 plate appearances. The hope is that he's not dealing with an injury, but the A's should have more information soon.

Los Angeles Dodgers left-hander
Blake Snell (shoulder) completed a 15-pitch bullpen session Tuesday, Bill Plunkett of the Orange County Register reports. It was Snell's first bullpen session since April. Snell revealed afterward that his shoulder wasn't pain-free until two weeks ago. The Dodgers signed Snell to a five-year, $182 million guarantee in free agency, but the two-time Cy Young winner hasn't pitched yet this season on account of his shoulder problems. He's obviously still a ways off from debuting this season, but it's a positive sign that he was able to get through Tuesday's throwing session unscathed.

Lou Trivino will serve as the opener ahead of Tuesday's game against the San Diego Padres. The Dodgers will go with a bullpen game here, which could be a hard task against a tough Padres lineup. Trivino will get the ball first with
Matt Sauer likely pitching a bulk of the innings. The Dodgers appear to be in good hands with Trivino who is posting a 1.74 ERA and 1.16 WHIP since joining the team. He's not a great fantasy option here, but could offer some low-end value for managers looking for bullpen help.

Jung Hoo Lee (back) is returning to center field and will bat leadoff on Tuesday against the division-rival Colorado Rockies and left-hander
Carson Palmquist at Coors Field. Lee did not start the final two games of the weekend against the Atlanta Braves due to tightness in his back, but he's feeling better after a scheduled day off for travel on Monday. The 26-year-old only played in 37 games in his first season in the big leagues due to a shoulder injury that required surgery. He's already played in 64 games in 2025 and enters Tuesday's tilt slashing .276/.330/.436 with a .766 OPS, six homers, 32 RBI, 35 runs scored and six stolen bases. The Japanese outfielder has actually been better against lefties this year, going 19-for-62 (.306) against them with three of his six homers. Get Lee back in your lineups this week at hitter-friendly Coors Field.

Athletics right-hander
Mitch Spence will remain in the starting rotation and get another turn on Tuesday on the road against the division-rival Los Angeles Angels in Anaheim. Spence made his first start of the season last Thursday in a win over the Minnesota Twins and looked good, allowing just one earned run on three hits (one homer) while walking one and striking out four in five innings of work. The 27-year-old could stick around even longer in a starting role if he shows well again on Tuesday, and he has the matchup to do it against an Angels squad that ranks 19th in the league with a .692 OPS. Spence's first 22 outings this year came in a relief role, and he's currently sporting a 4.09 ERA (3.91 FIP), a 1.27 WHIP, one save, 41 strikeouts and 15 walks in 44 innings pitched. He has an underwhelming 19.9% strikeout rate in his two big-league seasons and relies on keeping the ball on the ground.

The Los Angeles Angels announced on Tuesday that they placed outfielder
Chris Taylor (hand) on the 10-day injured list with a fractured left hand and added first baseman/outfielder
LaMonte Wade Jr. to the major-league roster in a corresponding move. Taylor was recently scooped up by the Halos after he was cut by the Los Angeles Dodgers, but the 34-year-old veteran only made it 10 games with the Angels before fracturing his hand on a hit-by-pitch in Monday's win over the Athletics. There's no timetable for when Taylor might be able to return, but it's a good bet we won't see him until the second half of the season. He had gone 6-for-30 (.200) with a homer, three RBI and a steal as a utility player for the Angels. Wade could see occasional start in the outfield against right-handed pitching but isn't anything more than a bench stash in AL-only leagues after being cut by the Giants earlier this year.
