AJ Allmendinger is one of the best road course racers in the NASCAR Cup Series, but he's struggling to find speed this weekend at Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez in Mexico City. Allmendinger was just 30th-fastest on the speed chart in the opening practice session of the weekend and then improved to 21st-fastest in the second session. Allmendinger noted that he needed the car to be significantly better for the race on Sunday, and the No. 16 team may have gotten things pointed in the right direction, as Allmendinger qualified in eighth-place for Sunday's Viva Mexico 250. Still, though, the No. 16 Chevrolet doesn't seem to have race-winning speed--at least heading into race day. With his high starting spot and $9,300 salary on DraftKings, Allmendinger is a tournament play for DFS contests this weekend and will likely need to grab a podium finish if he wants to make the optimal lineup--something he hasn't done in the Cup Series since his win at the Charlotte Roval in 2023. --Jordan McAbee
