Top Hitter Streamers and Starts - Fantasy Baseball Waiver Wire Pickups for Week 12 (June 16 - June 22)

Alejandro Kirk, Fantasy Baseball Catcher

Dan's top hitter streamers and starts as fantasy baseball waiver wire adds for Week 12 of 2025 (June 16 - June 22). He analyzes streamers with favorable matchups, schedules.

We are halfway through June, and the race to the top of the standings (in MLB and your fantasy baseball leagues) is heating up! Keeping your roster stocked with active players who can contribute daily is so important during this stretch of the season. Some managers will tune out for weeks at a time, but that's where you'll gain an advantage by being active on the waiver wire!

Our hitter streamers fantasy baseball waiver wire pickups column will identify hitters with favorable matchups who can be considered waiver wire streamers ahead of the Sunday night waiver wire runs for leagues with weekly transactions. Players who appear in this article will always be rostered in 40 percent or fewer leagues on Yahoo!

In this piece, every week, I'll look to find hitters playing in the most games and who have the most favorable matchups to help you plug those gaps and fill those holes in your roster. You can also check out the rest of our fantasy baseball streamer content here at RotoBaller. Let's see which hitters we should consider grabbing off the wire as we roll into Week 12 of the fantasy baseball season!

Be sure to check all of our fantasy baseball lineup tools and resources:

What Teams Offer the Most Streaming Value in Week 12?

Most MLB teams are playing six games this week.

Teams playing seven games are BAL, COL, HOU, LAA, LAD, MIA, NYY, ATH, PHI, SDP, TBR, and WAS.

Ballpark Upgrades:

  • ATH (7 games at home)
  • TBR (7 games at home)
  • ARI (3 games @COL)
  • MIN (3 games @CIN)

Week 12 Fantasy Baseball Hitter Streamers

I'll recommend only players who are 40 percent rostered or lower, and all roster percentages are from Yahoo!

Alejandro Kirk, C - TOR (38% rostered)

The pudgy catcher has emerged as Toronto's most consistent hitter over the last two weeks. He just had an eight-game hitting streak snapped. He is hitting over .400 over the last two weeks!

Kirk is hitting third or fourth in the lineup most nights with ample RBI opportunities. If you need help at the catcher position, he's easily one of the best options available.

Christian Encarnacion-Strand, 1B - CIN (35% rostered)

Yes, he has cooled off a bit since coming back with a bang and homering in his first three games after returning from injury, but CES is still worth rostering in standard leagues for his home run upside and run production. His spot in the lineup is secure, and he's hitting behind the red-hot TJ Friedl and Elly De La Cruz. He should get it going again sooner rather than later.

Josh Smith, 1B/3B/SS - TEX (35% rostered)

Smith, who is the ultimate utility player, is back on our radar with another impressive couple of weeks. This past week, he is scorching hot with six straight multi-hit games and two home runs. He's scored eight runs in his last three games as the Texas offense finally begins to wake up.

He's leading off and doing a little of everything; he makes for a great streamer this week and could hold value beyond that if the Rangers continue to hit well.

Trevor Story, SS - BOS (32% rostered)

Boston has been waiting on this version of Story for a few years, and perhaps it's just a fleeting hot streak, but Story is hitting .319 with 12 RBI and 8 runs scored over the last two weeks. He's hitting in the middle of the order, which has been great for his run production and even back to stealing some bases with two this last week, bringing his season total to 11.

Story has all the tools we are looking for in a fantasy player. He is deserving of a roster spot in standard leagues. Go grab him with the hopes that he can sustain this production.

Abraham Toro, 1B/2B/3B - BOS (31% rostered)

Toro has done his best to help plug the holes in the Boston lineup. He's been a utility player and platoon hitter vs. LHP for much of his career, but right now he's getting a chance to start pretty much every day for Boston and has been ultra-productive.

Toro is hitting .341 with seven RBI and eight runs scored in the last two weeks. He's even flexed some power with two more home runs in that stretch to take him to five on the season (in just 28 games).

Alec Burleson, OF - STL (29% rostered)

Burleson is never a very exciting player to pick up, but like many other Cardinals hitters, he just keeps getting it done offensively without being splashy.

Burleson is hitting .299 on the season with five home runs, but he's been a steady contributor in runs and RBI when in the lineup. Right now, he's heating up again with four multi-hit games in his last seven. He even moved into the 3-hole yesterday for the Cardinals' game against Milwaukee, which could be a good sign for his value going forward.

Jo Adell, OF - LAA (28% rostered)

Adell has been rolling (but not in the Deep). Instead, he's been taking pitchers deep frequently with six more bombs in the last two weeks.

That takes him to 13 HR on the season. He's always going to be a bit of a drag on your batting average, but it's hard not to love the power production.

Lane Thomas, OF - CLE (24% rostered)

The numbers aren't there yet, but Thomas is at least healthy and back in the lineup for Cleveland. He should lead off against lefties and has been one of the better hitters against LHP over the last several seasons.

Thomas has power and speed and should get an opportunity to get it going for Cleveland again this season, as they badly need more offensive production from their outfield.

Jeff McNeil, 2B/OF - NYM (20% rostered)

The Mets' recent run has had plenty to do with Juan Soto, Francisco Lindor, and Pete Alonso. But a big part of their success has to be attributed to the resurgence of Jeff McNeil.

McNeil has long been known as a good contact hitter and solid defender, but he's been on a power surge lately, smacking four home runs in the last week. He's probably not going to be doing that for an extended stretch, but he is consistently getting on base and contributing in average, runs scored, and RBI. Ride him while he's hot!

J.P. Crawford, SS - SEA (15% rostered)

Crawford made the list last week, and all he did this week has continued to hit. He has two three-hit games in a row so far in the Cleveland series, and he swiped two more bases this week. He continues to provide some solid production and is going overlooked by a lot of fantasy managers.

Jesus Sanchez, OF - MIA (13% rostered)

Sanchez is one of the sneakier power hitters out there on the wire. His last 14-day stats are two HR, six runs scored, 12 RBI, and two steals. That puts him inside the top 40 over that stretch and highlights the type of production we can get from Sanchez when he's firing on all cylinders.

Week 12 Deeper League Fantasy Baseball Hitter Streamers to Consider

Some widely available hitters (under 10 percent rostered) could be worth a look this week.

Good luck this week, and choose those streaming options wisely! Thanks for making RotoBaller your one-stop shopping for all things fantasy baseball!
