Tom Kim did not fare well at the first two majors in 2025. The South Korean golfer made the cut but finished outside the Top 50 at both the Masters and the PGA Championship. Kim strives for improvement at the U.S. Open. Kim has finished 26th or better and ended up inside the Top 10 in 2023 (LACC North). His scrambling is around average but strokes gained to putting has dipped in 2025 (141st at -0.224). Worse, Kim's greens in regulation is 151st at 62.85% and shots greater than 200 yards end up a distant 56 feet 11 inches on average (170th). Kim now stands at +20000 as Oakmont appears to be that intimidating. --Chris Wassel - RotoBallerSource: PGATour.com

Athletics outfielder Brent Rooker had a monster day at the plate on Wednesday, going 4-for-5 with two home runs, one double, three runs, and three RBI. This was the first time he homered in June, snapping a 10-game home run drought that is rare for the slugger. He's now slashing .276/.342/.498 with 15 home runs, 41 RBI, and 44 runs on the season. The 30-year-old has seen a slight decline in batting average since last year, dropping from .293 to .276. This is surprising since he is striking out at a way lower rate, improving from 28.8% in 2024 to 20.8% this season. That could suggest that even better days are ahead for Rooker, who has maintained his place as one of the best power-hitters in the sport.--Jeremy HeistSource: MLB.com

Atlanta Braves starting pitcher Spencer Schwellenbach threw the first complete game of his career and earned the win in a 6-2 win against the Brewers on Wednesday. He allowed two runs on five hits while striking out nine over the nine frames. He has only pitched less than six innings in a start two times all season, and four of his past six outings have been at least seven innings. Not only has he been extremely efficient, but he also has excelled at missing bats, with two 11-strikeout performances in that same span. The youngster is giving Chris Sale a run for his money as the best pitcher on that staff, and he'll carry a 3.11 ERA and 1.00 WHIP into his next start against the Mets.--Jeremy HeistSource: MLB.com

Sungjae Im has been a little inconsistent lately. The Korean golfer missed the cut at the PGA Championship and the RBC Canadian Open but T-16 at the Memorial. Overall, Im has three Top 10 results in 2025. All three of those are in the Top 5. Im has never won a major and has missed the cut at the U.S. Open four times in six appearances. That includes the last three years. Im is inside the Top 50 when it comes to scrambling from the rough. Unfortunately, his accuracy approaching the green is poor. He ranks 157th in greens in regulation at 62.24%. Overall strokes gained approaching the green ranks 177th at -0.865. That might be why DraftKings has him listed at +12000 to win come Sunday. --Chris Wassel - RotoBallerSource: PGATour.com

Brian Harman had a sour taste in his mouth after his performance at the Memorial. The American golfer missed the cut (76-78) and looked out of sorts. This is in stark contrast to April where Harman won the Valero Texas Open and finished T-3 at the RBC Heritage. Harman is fairly accurate with his shots but his scrambling from the rough ranks 140th at 53.15%. Driving accuracy is 62.53% and greens in regulation rolls in at 66.48%. If Harman is making putts, look out. People do forget that Harman finished tied for runner-up at Erin Hills in 2017. Since then, he has not finished a U.S. Open inside the Top 15. Oakmont does not seem the most ideal for his pace and game so from a DFS standpoint, it may be wise to fade. --Chris Wassel - RotoBallerSource: PGATour.com

Tony Finau has had his struggles at the U.S. Open. The American golfer did thrive at Pinehurst last year and finished tied for third. However, it has been a series of hits and misses through the years. Oakmont was an adventure nine years ago where Finau missed the cut at +7 (72-75). Finau is high on a few boards but the rough on the Pennsylvania golf course could be problematic. Errant shots at Oakmont will be a concern considering Finau has issues scrambling (58.61% - 122nd). Scrambling from the rough is worse at 54.92% (127th). If the weather does turn wet, that will only cause worse conditions. Driving and fairway accuracy is helpful and Finau ranks 102nd (58.75%) with his drives. DFS owners may want to look elsewhere this week. --Chris Wassel - RotoBallerSource: PGATour.com

St. Louis Cardinals second baseman Brendan Donovan (toe) said his MRI exam showed a sprained capsule in the joint of his left big toe. Donovan added that trainers "threw the book at it" on Wednesday in terms of treatment, and he's not concerned it's an injured list situation, calling that a "worst-case scenario." The 28-year-old was pulled from Tuesday's loss against the Toronto Blue Jays and sat out of their loss in the series finale on Wednesday. It's possible he could miss the first couple games of the series against the division-rival Milwaukee Brewers, which starts on Thursday, but fantasy managers shouldn't be too concerned. Nolan Gorman should play second for St. Louis for as long as Donovan remains out. Donovan has hit a strong .310 (77-for-248) on the year, but he's gone 7-for-35 (.200) with 10 K's in nine games so far in June. The contact-oriented hitter doesn't offer much besides a high average in fantasy.--Keith HernandezSource: Belleville News - Jeff Jones

Boston Red Sox manager Alex Cora said that right-hander Kutter Crawford (knee, wrist) wasn't "feeling great," which is why he's back to playing catch instead of throwing bullpen sessions. It's a setback for Crawford, who has yet to pitch in 2025. The 29-year-old made a career-high 33 starts last year, lost a league-high 16 games and allowed a league-high 34 home runs, and then injured his knee in spring training. A wrist injury has given him problems of late, and he doesn't appear to be close to returning from the 60-day injured list. At this point, fantasy managers in deeper leagues shouldn't expect Crawford back until sometime in the second half of the season. When/if Crawford makes it back in 2025, he won't be guaranteed a spot in Boston's starting rotation and might be ticketed for a long-relief role.--Keith HernandezSource: Boston Herald - Gabrielle Starr

Boston Red Sox manager Alex Cora said that right-hander Tanner Houck (elbow) will throw an up-and-down bullpen session at the end of this week. It will be Houck's second bullpen session after he threw one last Saturday. The 28-year-old is making progress, although it's unclear when exactly he might be able to return to Boston's starting rotation after a right flexor-pronator strain sent him to the 15-day injured list. The former 24th overall pick in 2017 out of Missouri was having a nightmarish season through nine starts before his injury, going 0-3 with an 8.04 ERA (6.10 FIP) and 1.69 WHIP with 32 strikeouts and 17 walks in 43 2/3 innings pitched. It was a sharp contract from when he had a 2.54 ERA in the first half last year to earn his first trip to the All-Star game. Houck is a ground-ball artist who could bounce back with better health for fantasy managers in the second half.--Keith HernandezSource: Boston Herald - Gabrielle Starr

New York Yankees first baseman/designated hitter Ben Rice hasn't started a game at catcher this year, but with Giancarlo Stanton's (elbows) return looming, manager Aaron Boone said Rice could start some games behind the plate. The Yankees are going to have a logjam for DH duties when Stanton returns to the big-league roster, possibly as soon as next week, so the Yankees are going to need to get creative as they look for ways to keep Rice's bat in the lineup. The 26-year-old left-handed slugger is breaking out in his second MLB season with 12 home runs, 25 RBI, 33 runs scored and two stolen bases in 57 games played this year. He's hitting .240 (46-for-192), but his xBA of .295 indicates more good times are on the way. His 94.4 mph average exit velocity ranks sixth in all of baseball, and he's tied with Matt Olson for seventh with a 55.9% hard-hit rate.--Keith HernandezSource: YES Network - Jack Curry

New York Yankees right-handed reliever Luke Weaver (hamstring) said he felt "great" after throwing his second bullpen session on Wednesday at Kauffman Stadium. Weaver landed on the 15-day injured list on June 3 with a strained hamstring and received a platelet-rich plasma injection, and now he's no longer feeling anything in his leg. The 31-year-old veteran was given a return timetable of four to six weeks, but he appears to be making good progress and could be back on the short end of that timeline, barring a setback when he resumes facing live hitters. Before his injury, Weaver took over primary closing duties from Devin Williams, who got off to a rough start in his first year in New York. Weaver has eight saves with a stingy 1.05 ERA, 0.70 WHIP and 24 strikeouts in 25 2/3 innings, although he could return to the eighth-inning setup role with Williams settling down of late.--Keith HernandezSource: Newsday - Erik Boland

New York Yankees outfielder/designated hitter Giancarlo Stanton (elbows) went 1-for-4 with an RBI double and a strikeout in his second minor-league rehab game with Double-A Somerset in the first game of a doubleheader on Wednesday against Double-A Portland. Stanton's double had an exit velocity of 110.6 mph off the bat, and he's now 3-for-4 with four RBI in his first two rehab games. The 35-year-old former MVP has been out all season with tennis elbow in both of his arms, but he's finally playing in games again and could make his 2025 debut by next week, barring a setback during his rehab assignment. Stanton might not play regularly because he'll be limited to DH duties the rest of the year, but for his power alone, he's worth a waiver-wire pickup if he's available in your league. The five-time All-Star has 429 round-trippers in his 15 years in the big leagues.--Keith HernandezSource: Milb.com

The Minnesota Twins announced on Wednesday that they transferred right-hander Pablo Lopez (shoulder) to the 60-day injured list to make room on the 40-man roster for left-hander Joey Wentz, who they claimed off waivers from the Pittsburgh Pirates. Lopez is dealing with a Grade 2 right teres major muscle strain in his right shoulder and was already expected to miss at least two months, so his move to the 60-day IL isn't all that notable. The 29-year-old Venezuelan hurler should be stashed in most fantasy leagues while he recovers, as he was in the midst of a strong season before his injury, going 5-3 with a 2.82 ERA (2.98 FIP) and 1.07 WHIP with 61 punchouts and 14 walks in 60 2/3 innings over 11 starts. With both Lopez and Zebby Matthews (shoulder) on the IL, David Festa and Simeon Woods Richardson have joined Minnesota's rotation.--Keith HernandezSource: Minnesota Twins

Toronto Blue Jays infielder Ernie Clement (lower body) suffered what appeared to be a left-knee injury in the eighth inning in Wednesday's win over the St. Louis Cardinals while diving for a ground ball at third base and left the game, but he said he's OK. Manager John Schneider also said that Clement is fine. "They just forced me to come out - just precautionary because we have the off day tomorrow," Clement said. The 29-year-old had a big game before exiting, recording three hits, including his fourth home run of the year, as the Blue Jays swept the Cardinals in St. Louis. With a day off coming on Thursday, it's possible that Clement will be ready to roll for Friday's series opener in Philadelphia against the Phillies. Clement makes a lot of contact at the plate but is primarily an AL-only asset in fantasy because he lacks considerable power and speed.--Keith HernandezSource: Sportsnet.ca - Hazel Mae

Tampa Bay Rays ace Shane McClanahan (triceps) is "kind of in a shut-down mode," according to manager Kevin Cash, and will visit with another nerve specialist before the team determines the next step in his recovery. McClanahan threw a successful bullpen session last Friday, but apparently he's had a setback since then. This doesn't sound good, but we'll have to wait and see what the specialist says. The 28-year-old southpaw hasn't pitched all year and might be in danger of being shut down for the rest of the 2025 season, depending on his diagnosis. Even if he is cleared to resume his throwing program going forward, fantasy managers shouldn't expect McClanahan to return to the major-league starting rotation until sometime later in the second half. McClanahan made the All-Star squad his last two seasons in 2022 and 2023 and has 456 K's in 404 2/3 innings in his first three MLB seasons.--Keith HernandezSource: Bally Sports Florida - Ryan Bass

Texas Rangers right-hander Nathan Eovaldi (triceps) took a step in the right direction on Wednesday by playing catch, according to DLLS Sports' Jeff Wilson. The Rangers are still unsure when Eovaldi will return from the 15-day injured list, though. He is eligible to come back this Friday, but that isn't going to happen since he hasn't gotten back on a mound yet following a right-triceps injury that put him on the shelf on May 29. In the meantime, Jacob Latz could remain in Texas' starting rotation. The 35-year-old should remain stashed in all fantasy formats, and hopefully he'll be able to return from the IL before the end of June. In his first 12 starts of the year in 2025, Eovaldi had gone 4-3 with a 1.56 ERA (2.32 FIP) and league-best 0.81 WHIP with 73 strikeouts and 10 walks in 69 1/3 innings pitched. He should remain a high-floor fantasy starter whenever he returns.--Keith HernandezSource: DLLS Sports - Jeff Wilson

Patrick Cantlay has not won an event since the 2023 BMW Championship. The American golfer has won eight times on the PGA Tour but no majors. Each year since 2021 has seen Cantlay get closer and closer to his goal. He tied for third last year at Pinehurst and Cantlay was in contention until the closing holes. 2025 has seen him nab three Top 5 results. However, Cantlay has not finished better than fourth. The huge question mark with Cantlay boils down to scrambling from the rough. He ranks 131st at 54.55%. Also, his putts-per-round is a bit high at 28.98 (125th). Simply, if Cantlay keeps the ball on the fairway and green, he is a candidate to finish inside the Top 10 or 20 for bettors. --Chris Wassel - RotoBallerSource: PGATour.com

Texas Rangers starting pitcher Cody Bradford (elbow) faced hitters for a live batting practice session on Wednesday. Bradford reportedly looked good during his 22-pitch session, according to manager Bruce Bochy. The organization is hopeful to continue stretching out Bradford, assuming he doesn't suffer any setbacks from this session. There isn't a timetable for his return, but the hope is that Bradford should be able to return to the starting rotation around July. He has been sidelined all season long due to an elbow sprain. Fantasy managers can leave Bradford on the waiver wire until he's closer to getting back on the big league mound.--Andy WebbSource: Shawn McFarland

Akshay Bhatia struggled after three top-10 results in four events. The American golfer endured many struggles through April and most of May. However, the past two tournaments have shown improvement, as Bhatia had a T22 at the Charles Schwab and then a T16 at the Memorial. It was the latter which turned some heads, only because Bhatia bounced back from an 80 with a final-round 70. He hopes to improve from his PGA Tour performance when he missed the cut. Scrambling is an issue, as he ranks 159th (56.15%). With how deep the rough is and the greens being so challenging, Bhatia could very well struggle. Oakmont values accuracy and clutch putting. Bhatia has the ability, with consistency being the question.--Chris Wassel - RotoBallerSource: PGATour.com

The Los Angeles Daily News' Adam Grosbard reports that veteran wide receiver Davante Adams feels rejuvenated with the Los Angeles Rams and is already helping Puka Nacua and the team's other pass-catchers. Adams was traded from the Las Vegas Raiders to the New York Jets midseason last year to work with buddy Aaron Rodgers. While the 32-year-old six-time Pro Bowler and three-time All-Pro saw plenty of volume, he wasn't exactly efficient and finished the year with 85 grabs on 141 targets for 1,063 yards and eight touchdowns in 14 starts. He's now working with veteran quarterback Matthew Stafford, which is good news, but the volume probably won't be there like it has been while he shares targets with Nacua, who figures to be Stafford's favorite target. RotoBaller has Adams ranked as the No. 19 fantasy wideout, with Nacua coming in at No. 3.--Keith HernandezSource: Los Angeles Daily News - Adam Grosbard

Detroit Tigers starting pitcher Jackson Jobe (elbow) received some bad news on Wednesday. Jobe will reportedly undergo Tommy John surgery on his elbow, which will sideline him for the rest of the season. The right-hander was placed on the injured list at the end of May due to a right elbow flexor strain. It was apparently worse than that, so he'll miss the second half of the season and part of the 2026 campaign as well. This is frustrating to both fantasy managers and baseball fans in general as Jobe is one of the top prospects in the Tigers system. Fantasy managers in redraft formats can safely drop Jobe with him done for the 2025 season. The Tigers should give a better timetable on his eventual return at a later date.--Andy WebbSource: Evan Petzold

San Francisco Giants catcher Patrick Bailey (neck) was placed on the 10-day injured list on Wednesday. Bailey was scratched from the lineup ahead of Tuesday's contest with neck spasms. He has now been diagnosed with a neck strain and will miss at least a week of action. Andrew Knizner will do the catching on Wednesday and figures to see a majority of the time behind the plate while Bailey is out. In a corresponding move, Logan Porter has been recalled from Triple-A and will serve as the backup catcher. Bailey hasn't done enough at the plate to warrant holding through the injury.--Andy WebbSource: San Francisco Giants

New York Yankees infielder Jazz Chisholm Jr. (neck) is back in the starting lineup ahead of Wednesday's game against the Kansas City Royals. This is great news after Chisholm was forced to exit early on Tuesday due to neck tightness. It appears his removal was precautionary and he's ready to go on Wednesday. Chisholm will cover third base and bat fifth versus left-hander Kris Bubic. Fantasy managers can safely get Chisholm back in their lineups on Wednesday.--Andy WebbSource: mlb.com

Former Cincinnati Bengals linebacker Germaine Pratt signed a one-year, $4.25 million deal with the Las Vegas Raiders on Wednesday, a source tells NFL Network's Tom Pelissero. Pratt can earn up to $500,000 in incentives. The 29-year-old has quickly landed on his feet after the Bengals released him on Monday. The former third-rounder (72nd overall) in 2019 out of North Carolina State will get a fresh start in the desert after spending the first six years of his NFL career in Cincy, where he racked up 616 tackles (355 solo), 3.5 sacks, 32 tackles for loss, 10 QB hits, seven interceptions, 23 pass breakups, seven forced fumbles and five fumble recoveries in 96 games (88 starts). He has had over 100-plus tackles in each of the last two years, including a career-high 143 (80 solo) in 17 starts in 2024. While Pratt is a strong tackler, he was exposed in coverage and could be more of a rotational linebacker in Vegas.--Keith HernandezSource: NFL Network - Tom Pelissero

New York Yankees outfielder Jasson Dominguez is out of the starting lineup ahead of Wednesday's game against the Kansas City Royals. Dominguez will now head to the bench for the second time in the last three games. It's a bit odd to see Dominguez heading to the bench after a three-hit game on Tuesday. He's slashing .246/.340/.402 with six home runs and 25 RBI this season. The potential is through the roof, but it might take some time for Dominguez to adjust to the big league level. Regardless, he's worth rostering in most 12-team formats. Trent Grisham will cover center field and bat seventh versus left-hander Kris Bubic on Wednesday.--Andy WebbSource: mlb.com

Dallas Cowboys cornerback Trevon Diggs (knee) said his goal is to return for Week 1 of the 2025 regular season this fall, according to The Dallas Morning News' Calvin Watkins. Diggs had surgery to fix a cartilage issue in his knee in January and is expected to start training camp this summer on the Physically Unable to Perform list. The 26-year-old tore his ACL in Week 3 of 2023 but made it back last year, only to deal with ankle, calf, groin and foot injuries, in addition to his knee ailment, while being limited to 11 starts. It seems like ages ago that he recorded a league-high 11 interceptions (two returned for touchdowns) in 2021. Dallas figures to be cautious with the two-time Pro Bowler in his recovery, so it wouldn't be a surprise if he's not ready for the season opener in September. When healthy, Diggs has already proved he can be a ball-hawking defensive back for the Cowboys defense.--Keith HernandezSource: Dallas Morning News - Calvin Watkins

Chicago White Sox infielder Chase Meidroth is out of the starting lineup ahead of Wednesday's game against the Houston Astros. Meidroth will get a rest day here after starting in nine straight games. During that span, Meidroth is 12-for-33 with four RBI and at least one hit in seven of his last nine contests. He doesn't offer a ton of power, but his contact ability makes him worth a look in deep leagues. Vinny Capra will cover shortstop and bat ninth versus right-hander Ryan Gusto on Wednesday.--Andy WebbSource: mlb.com

Buffalo Bills All-Pro defensive end Joey Bosa (calf) said he's being cautious by sitting out mandatory minicamp but expects to be a full-go for the start of training camp in late July, according to The Buffalo News' Ryan O'Halloran. Bosa also missed voluntary organized team activities this offseason, but he expects to be ready for training camp and the start of the 2025 regular season in his first year in Buffalo. The 29-year-old is a former five-time Pro Bowler and can be a game-changer, but he too often has been stuck on the sidelines in recent years due to injuries. The former third overall pick in 2016 by the Los Angeles Chargers out of Ohio State hasn't played in a full season since 2021, which is also the last year he had double-digit sacks. If he's fully healthy, though, he'll be a major boost to Buffalo's pass rush. Bosa has racked up 72 sacks in 107 games (93 starts) since his rookie year in 2016.--Keith HernandezSource: The Buffalo News - Ryan O'Halloran

Chicago Bears head coach Ben Johnson is unsure if rookie first-round tight end Colston Loveland (shoulder) will be a full-go for the start of training camp at the end of July. After having surgery on his shoulder in January, Colston has been able to lift weights, run routes and catch passes, with his final hurdle being getting his strength and mobility fully back. In the meantime, he's getting lots of mental reps as he learns Chicago's playbook. The 21-year-old was the 10th overall pick in April's NFL draft and gives second-year quarterback Caleb Williams another pass-catching weapon alongside fellow TE Cole Kmet. While Loveland certainly has a higher fantasy ceiling than Kmet, Kmet's presence and Loveland's delay due to surgery could mean a slow start in his first NFL season. Fantasy managers in single-year leagues should definitely temper expectations.--Keith HernandezSource: The Athletic - Kevin Fishbain

Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Jalen Nailor has bulked up in the offseason, with SKOR North's Judd Zulgad saying, "When you see him physically, you won't recognize him." Zulgad points out that fellow wideout Jordan Addison is likely to be suspended for two to three games to start the 2025 season for an off-field incident in Los Angeles last July, and Nailor is motivated headed into a contract year. The 26-year-old took a big step forward in his third NFL season in Minnesota in 2024, going for a 28-414-6 line on 42 targets over 17 regular-season games (seven starts) after catching 12 passes in his first two seasons. Nailor could have an expanded role early on if Addison is suspended, but he'll also face more competition from rookie third-rounder Tai Felton and free-agent addition Rondale Moore. For now, he remains outside of RotoBaller's top-100 fantasy receivers.--Keith HernandezSource: SKOR North - Judd Zulgad
