Ozzie Albies Playing Second Base Saturday
2 years agoAtlanta Braves second baseman Ozzie Albies (shoulder) is starting at second base and is hitting fifth in the batting order on Saturday in the team's Grapefruit League game against the Minnesota Twins. Albies had a clean-up procedure on his right shoulder last October and had been serving as the designated hitter in spring games up to this point. The 26-year-old is taking the next step and playing defense, and barring a setback, he should be just fine for Opening Day. It was a year of injuries in 2022 for Albies, as he also dealt with a broken foot and pinkie finger, limiting him to only 64 games for Atlanta. Barring more health issues this year, Albies is a great bounce-back candidate and should be considered a top-five second baseman by fantasy managers.
