Noelvi Marte Crushing The Ball At Double-A
2 years agoCincinnati Reds infield prospect Noelvi Marte, the team's No. 2 prospect per MLB Pipeline, is hitting an impressive .358 (24-for-67) with five doubles, seven home runs, 17 RBI, three stolen bases and 14 runs scored in 74 plate appearances over 17 games in the month of May at Double-A Chattanooga. It took the 21-year-old infielder a bit to get dialed in at the plate in his first season at Double-A earlier this year, but he looks to be locked in at the moment. Marte can play both shortstop and third base, but he figures to stick at the hot corner at the next level. He remains on track to be an everyday player in the big leagues eventually, and he carries plenty of dynasty/keeper league appeal with 25-plus homer power.
