No Structural Damage For Yimi Garcia
6 months agoAn MRI exam on Sunday on Toronto Blue Jays relief pitcher Yimi Garcia (elbow) showed some ulna nerve symptoms in his right elbow but no structural damage, which manager John Schneider described as "great news." The Blue Jays are still determining the next steps on Garcia, and he could still land on the injured list. Pitcher Brandon Eisert is with the team on their taxi squad just in case. With Jordan Romano (elbow) on the injured list for the second time this year, Garcia has filled in as Toronto's primary closer, but now that role could fall to Chad Green for however long Garcia is out. The Jays aren't too concerned with Garcia's injury, and fantasy managers should consider him day-to-day this week. But if Garcia hasn't recovered by Friday, he could join Romano on the IL. If Green is available on your league's waiver wire, pick him up.
