The Seattle Mariners re-signed right-hander Nick Davila to a minor-league deal this week. Davila has not yet appeared in the major leagues and went 5-9 with a 4.51 ERA, 1.28 WHIP, 30 walks and a career-high 109 strikeouts in 117 2/3 innings over 22 appearances (18 starts) for Single-A Modesto, High-A Everett and Triple-A Tacoma in 2023. The 24-year-old has a 3.99 ERA and 1.30 WHIP with 261 strikeouts in 268 1/3 innings over 62 outings (42 starts) in the minor leagues over the last three seasons with the Mariners and Detroit Tigers.
