Mitch Haniger Injured Thursday
6 years agoSeattle Mariners outfielder Mitch Haniger left the game early on Thursday with a lower-body contusion after fouling a ball off of himself. Haniger was hitless with two strikeouts in his three plate appearances before leaving the game. His average is now down to .220 on the year with 15 home runs, 46 runs, 32 RBI and four steals. The counting stats aren't bad, but his fantasy owners were expecting a bit more after his 2018 breakout. Haniger will need to stop striking out as much as he has this year to recover. Consider him day-to-day for now. If he needs to miss time, Mac Williamson could be thrust into a starting role.
