Mitch Garver Placed On Paternity List
3 years agoThe Minnesota Twins placed catcher Mitch Garver on the paternity list on Thursday and recalled catcher Ben Rortvedt from Triple-A St. Paul in a corresponding move. Garver will miss at least the next few games of the series against the Los Angeles Angels. The 30-year-old missed extended time after needing surgery on his groin, but he's been great for fantasy managers at a weak position when he's been on the field, clubbing 10 home runs and driving in 19 runs with a .343 on-base percentage in 122 at-bats for the Twins. Ryan Jeffers is doing the catching on Thursday and will hit seventh against Angels left-hander Andrew Heaney. Jeffers has a little pop, too, with six home runs in 130 at-bats, but he'll be a low-upside catching option in daily formats with his .192 batting average.
