Mike White Named Dolphins Backup Quarterback
1 year agoMiami Dolphins quarterback Mike White will serve as Tua Tagovailoa's backup to open the 2023 regular season, according to head coach Mike McDaniel. White was in the league's concussion protocol following the team's second preseason game and was held out of the preseason finale, but he's since cleared the protocols and will back up Tagovailoa heading into Week 1 against the Los Angeles Chargers. Behind White, Miami has Skylar Thompson at the position. The 28-year-old White played in eight games (seven starts) for the New York Jets the last two years and threw for 2,145 yards while tossing eight touchdowns and 12 interceptions.
