Michael King Eyes Weekend Rehab Start
Michael King (shoulder) is reportedly in consideration for a rehab start this weekend, likely at the Triple-A level. The 30-year-old has been on the 60-day injured list since May 25 with a long thoracic nerve injury in his right shoulder. He is expected to return sometime in August. Before the injury, King was dominant, posting a 2.59 ERA, a 1.02 WHIP, and 64 strikeouts across 55 ⅔ innings. His return would provide a significant boost to a Padres rotation looking to stay competitive in a tightly contested National League West race.
