Max Fried To Start Friday Against Cubs
1 year agoAtlanta Braves manager Brian Snitker said that the plan is for left-hander Max Fried (forearm) to come off the 60-day injured list and start Friday's series opener at Wrigley Field against the surging Chicago Cubs. Fried looked good during four minor-league rehab starts, but he hasn't pitched in a big-league game since May 5 when he injured his left forearm. The 29-year-old southpaw tossed 79 pitches in his fourth and final rehab start last Saturday, so he shouldn't have too much of a limit from a pitch-count perspective on Friday. Fried is a fantasy ace when healthy, but fantasy managers may want to temper expectations for his first start back against a team that is playing their best baseball right now.
