Max Fried Has No Timetable For Return
4 years agoAtlanta Braves starting pitcher Max Fried (hamstring) was cleared to throw a side session and complete some fielding drills on Friday, but there is no timetable for his return. Fried strained his right hamstring while advancing from second to third base on a wild pitch on April 13. The 27-year-old southpaw remains day-to-day. Fried got off to a tough start to his 2021 season in three outings before the injury, allowing 14 earned runs and 23 hits (three home runs) in just 11 innings of work while striking out 14 and walking five hitters. He's still worth stashing in an injured spot in all fantasy leagues, but his owners will need to remain patient. When Fried is ready to return to the rotation, Kyle Wright will likely be moved back to relief.
