New York Islanders center Mathew Barzal opened the scoring during Wednesday's 5-4 win over the Toronto Maple Leafs. He also a power-play assist in 17:52 of ice time. The slick 22-year-old has been the Islanders' offensive catalyst to start the season. He has eight goals and eight assists through 17 games and is currently riding a three-game point streak. Barzal has led the Islanders in scoring over the past two years and will likely do so again.
