Marvin Mims Jr. Could Have Big Role In Season Opener
1 year agoWith Denver Broncos wide receiver Jerry Jeudy (hamstring) up in the air to play in Week 1 against the Las Vegas Raiders, rookie second-rounder Marvin Mims Jr. could begin his NFL career in a big role next to Courtland Sutton. The 21-year-old had 54 catches for 1,083 yards and 20.1 yards per catch in his final season at Oklahoma in 2022. The Broncos could rely more on their ground game to kick off the season against the Raiders, especially if Jeudy is out, but Mims could still be peppered with targets from quarterback Russell Wilson against a secondary that can be beaten. It's always tough to rely on rookie receivers early on, but Mims has an opportunity to pay off for fantasy managers in deeper leagues looking for an upside WR4/flex option in Week 1.
