Luis Severino To Start Friday Against Astros
1 year agoNew York Yankees manager Aaron Boone confirmed that right-hander Luis Severino will start on Friday against the Houston Astros. Severino has been at risk of losing his spot in the starting rotation because of how bad he's struggled, but he'll get at least another turn to state his case to remain. The 29-year-old has gone 2-5 with a rough 7.49 ERA (6.27 FIP), 1.84 WHIP, 24 walks and 50 strikeouts in 57 2/3 innings pitched over 12 starts. He was even worse in his five starts in the month of July, giving up 29 runs (27 earned) on 43 hits (seven homers surrendered) while walking nine and striking out 18 in 21 2/3 innings. If fantasy managers are holding him for now, they should keep him on their benches on Friday in a tough matchup versus the Astros.
