Luis Robert Jr. Resting Against Rangers
1 year agoChicago White Sox outfielder Luis Robert Jr. is taking the day off on Thursday against the Texas Rangers. Trayce Thompson (oblique), who was activated from the 60-day injured list on Thursday, will make his White Sox debut and start in center field and bat sixth against Rangers right-hander Max Scherzer. Robert was selected to his first All-Star team this year and has been the White Sox's best hitter this season. He's currently batting .267 (109-for-408) with a career-highs across the board in home runs (29), doubles (29), RBI (60), stolen bases (12) and runs scored (70) through 446 plate appearances and 106 games played. He's been a bit more slugging of late, though, going 7-for-30 with a homer, four doubles, three RBI, one steal and four runs scored in his last eight games.
