Kyler Murray, Jacoby Brissett Splitting Reps With Primary Pass-Catchers
Arizona Cardinals head coach Jonathan Gannon said on Thursday that the team is preparing quarterback Kyler Murray (foot) to start on Monday night in Week 9 versus the Dallas Cowboys. However, Tyler Drake of Arizona Sports is reporting that Murray and backup Jacoby Brissett are splitting reps with the main pass-catchers during the open portion of Thursday's practice. Brissett led off the drills, followed by Murray, which was similar to what happened on Tuesday. Murray missed Weeks 6 and 7 due to a foot sprain, but he's trending in the right direction coming out of the team's Week 8 bye. The report from Drake makes things a little less certain as to whether Murray will actually start over Brissett in a great matchup against Dallas. While Murray is trending up and would be a low-end QB1 in fantasy if he starts, nothing is official just yet.
