Kyle Gibson To Make His Next Start On Tuesday
6 months agoSt. Louis Cardinals right-hander Kyle Gibson (back) is listed as the team's probable starting pitcher on Tuesday versus the visiting Atlanta Braves. Gibson was scratched from his last scheduled outing on Wednesday against the Miami Marlins due to back tightness, but it appears the injury won't cause him to miss anymore time or put him on the injured list. Although the 36-year-old veteran has limited fantasy upside due to his 18.8% career strikeout rate, he's been trending up of late and hasn't allowed more than three earned runs in each of his last five starts. In three outings in June, he's allowed six earned runs on 15 hits while walking six and fanning 21 in 18 2/3 frames. Gibson will be a bit more risky for fantasy managers on Tuesday, but he'll also be facing a Braves team that is much less dangerous with no Ronald Acuna Jr.
