Justin Herbert Goes Sixth Overall To Chargers

The Los Angeles Chargers selected Oregon quarterback Justin Herbert with the sixth overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft on Thursday. Herbert is the third quarterback to go in the first six picks, and it's back-to-back with the Dolphins taking Alabama's Tua Tagovailoa right before the Bolts. The Oregon product has excellent size and a huge arm, and he aced everything in the pre-draft process, moving his stock up considerably. The Chargers moved on from Philip Rivers, so Herbert will come to LA as the heir apparent, but Tyrod Taylor will be the bridge to Herbert. He may need time to develop in an NFL offensive scheme after playing in an offense in college that wasn't creative. He'll be an intriguing dynasty/keeper pick this year, but you can avoid him in redraft leagues.
