Josh Donaldson Could Return Soon
3 years agoThe New York Yankees are encouraged that third baseman Josh Donaldson (shoulder) will come off the 10-day injured list soon. He was initially on the COVID-19 injured list, even though he tested negative for the virus. The Yankees then transferred Donaldson to the injured list with a shoulder injury. The 36-year-old received a cortisone injection for an issue he's dealt with off and on in the past. Whenever he returns, he'll be facing a one-game suspension for comments he made to Chicago White Sox shortstop Tim Anderson. Donaldson is eligible to return from the IL on June 3, and it sounds like he'll be back by then. Before the injury, he was hitting .238/.349/.415 with five home runs and 15 RBI. DJ LeMahieu and Marwin Gonzalez have been splitting time at the hot corner with Donaldson out.
