Josh Donaldson Back From Injured List And Starting Friday
3 years agoNew York Yankees third baseman Josh Donaldson (shoulder) was activated from the injured list on Friday and is playing third base and batting cleanup against Detroit Tigers right-hander Elvin Rodriguez. Donaldson initially went on the injured list with a non-COVID illness and then dealt with right shoulder inflammation. He's been out since May 24 and received a cortisone injection in his shoulder. Donaldson should return to everyday duties at the hot corner, with DJ LeMahieu moving back to the keystone. The 36-year-old is facing a one-game suspension for an altercation with Chicago White Sox shortstop Tim Anderson before he landed on the IL. Donaldson is hitting .238/.349/.415 with five home runs, 15 RBI and 17 runs scored in 130 at-bats this season.
